Colorado Road Trip

Last week found DH and I traveling up to Durango and Ouray Colorada, where we visited a couple of National Parks, and a couple of Quilt shops. We stopped of at Mesa Verde National Park on the way, and Black Canyon of the Gunnison on the way home. The scenery was beautiful and weather was great- nice to escape the heat of Scottsdale for a few days.

First stop was Cortez, where we were able to shop in the Quilt store there. Then on to Mesa Verde, and Durango the next morning.

We stayed at the historic Stater Hotel in downtown Durango. Beautiful victorian hotel located with walking distance to everything.

Off to Black Canyon NP and Ouray. The drive was spectacular on the Million Dollar Highway.

We took a hike to Cascade Falls and around the city of Ouray. Great views of city and mountains.

Last stop on our road trip was Petrified Forrest National Park and Winslow AZ. We also stopped in Holbrook to shop at the Painted Desert Quilt Shop.

We stayed one night in Winslow at the La Posada Hotel. This is an old railrood hotel right next to the tracks. It was fun to watch the trains go by!

Next Road trip is to Whitfish Montana near Glacier National Park in September. Updated Stash Report next!
