Design Wall

Back home from our trip and I have a lot to get working on! I am back to working on the setting of the Shoo Fly blocks, as this is one of my UFO's that will be due for Sunrise stitchers in May. With May just around the corner and a trip to San Diego planned next week, I need to get going on this one.

Making Progress!

Have a great week!

Sunday Stash Report

Today is our last morning of retreat. It has been a fun 3+days and we all hope to get together next year. I was able to finish 8 pieced blocks with 4 more applique blocks that are prepped and will be hand sewn while we are on the road.

Dear Hannah Blocks

Also completed were 3 of the Love and Kisses blocks. This will be a fun and easy quilt to put together and I will be working on more of this when I get home.

Love and Kisses Blocks

Below are some of the fun goodies that were made by some of the retreat goers. Thank you to all!

It was great to see Brenda again and all the other Cowgirls. Our last retreat was in 2017 and it has been way too long. We are already planning for next year.

A visit to the local quilt shop, Quilthaus was also on the agenda. They were having a great sale and so a little adding to the stash happenend.

Design Wall

It has been a busy couple of days with two days spent in Marathon Texas at the Gage Hotel, and a trip to Big Bend National Park.

Rio Grande River

We then headed to San Antonio and stayed at the Riverwalk. Visited the Alamo before we were off to the Ranch for the Dear Jane Retreat.

Below are the pincushions that I made for all the ladies. I can finally show them off. Tracy did the embroidery and I used Dear Jane fabric to make them. They were a hit!

My Sewing station was all set up and I got started on my blocks.

First Block done!

I hope to get at least 10 blocks completed this week, along with a start on the Love and Kisses Quilt. This quilt will also be made out of my Liberty of London fabrics.

Sunday Stash Report

Today DH and I are off on a road trip today, that will take us to Big Bend National Park in Texas, my Dear Jane Cowgirl Retreat in San Antionio, and stops on the way home to Carlsbad Caverns and White Sands National Parks in New Mexico. We will be gone for about 10 days and I am looking forward to this trip

I will be working on my Dear Hannah quilt during retreat. Yes, another UFO that was started about 2 years ago, and I have not touched since. Blocks are similar to Dear Jane, but more are applique.

Nothing finished this week, and nothing added to the Stash this week, but quilt shops will also be on the agenda for out trip, so I am sure some damage to the Stash will be happening.

Used this week: 0 yards.
Used YTD: 56 yards.

Design Wall Monday

This week on my design wall are shoo fly blocks that were made a couple of years ago during one of Bonnie Hunter's Leader Ender projects. This is one of my UFO's for Sunrise Stitchers and is due in May. So time to get busy on the setting and getting the top together. I think I have made about 80 of these 4" blocks, and will be setting with scrappy sashing and neutral cornerstones. Still undecided on Border color, but hope to pull something from my stash.

Also in the works are more blocks for Winter Blues. I think I will call this one Stormy Winter as it is in black and whites for my sister.

I have a lot to keep me busy this week! Happy Sewing...
