Design Wall Monday

March is flying by and April is just around the corner. I am off to SD this week to see the Grandkids for Easter, so not much sewing will get done. I will still be working on Misltetoe, with prepping of applique and making the Ohio Star blocks. I have about 7 blocks completed with 93 more to go.

Pieces cut out and ready to go for 20 more.

On the Longarm this week is a Table runner to practice placing triangle patterns.

A busy week for me! Hope you have a fun project you are working on.

Sunday Stash Report

This week I am happy to report a finsh: Tree Farm, by Laundry Basket Quilts.  Backing was also pieced, along with binding and a sleeve. It will be one of the next ones up on the Longarm.

Added to the stash this week was a pretty floral from Rifle Paper Company. This will be used in a quilt for my new Granddaughter who is due to arrive in July.

Updated stash numbers below. Three months into the year and it is looking pretty good. My trip to SD this week may change that, as I hope to get to Rosie's Calico Cupboard for a few new additions.

Design Wall Monday

On the Design Wall this week is Tree Farm-almost finished. Just sewing the rows together, quilting and binding.

Tree Farm

Once this is complete, I will turn my attention to the 100 Ohio Star blocks that are in Mistletoe.

The center is complete, except for the applique. This is my UFO for Sunrise Quilters that is due by the second week of May.

I am also working on a small table runner that we will use for the Statler Group that is meeting at my house on Saturday. It will be a demo piece for some custom quilting using the Statler Software.

On the longarm this week is a quilt I finished in 2013, Medallion by Marti Michell. This was a block of the month finishing at 96x96 and will finally be quilted!

Enjoy your Monday and Happy Sewing!

This week I finished up #3 I spy Quilt. This one for my youngest granddaughter with minnie mouse fabric. One more to go and then quilting and binding.

Also finished this week, but not a reduction yet, is the center Feathered Star block for Mistletoe. Now that this is done, I will add the applique and take it on my next trip to San Diego to work on.

I had to purchase a bit more fabric for Tree Farm, and that arrived this week. So a little addition to the stash and some usage to report this week.

Design Wall

March is half way done, and spring is on the way here in the desert, even if the last couple of days have been windy and cold!

This week on the Design wall is #3 I Spy Quilt. Blocks are complete and just need to sew the rows and put on borders. This should be finished this week. One more to go!

I will also be finishing up Tree Farm, just waiting for some fabric from Laundry Basket quilts to complete. Long story, but did not have enough of the light background to complete.

On the longarm this week is a quilt a finished last year called checkerboard. I am quilting with pink thread and a pattern called Happiness from Anne Bright. This is one of my favorite pattern designers and I have used many of her patterns.

Also up this week will be a service for my Longarm by Keith from Mulqueens. I usually try to have it serviced every 2 years or so, just to keep everything running smoothly.

Have a great rest of your week and hope you are working on a fun project.

Design Wall Monday

On the design wall this week will be Tree Farm. Half square triangles are done and trimmed and I have started sewing the center unit for the tree. Will need 18 of these units, and then 36 side triangle units.

There is a video here, by Edita Sitar on how to make this quilt. I found it very informative as the pattern only gives the basic directions.

Hope you have something fun you are working on this week!

Sunday Stash Report

Nothing finished and nothing added to the stash this week. Works are in progress for a finish in the near future. I did make 2 blocks for our guild BOM, winner will be drawn on Tuesday. I decided to make two of them, as the tecnique to make the flying geese was pretty easy and accurate. You can find a video here.

I recieved an early Birthday gift from my friend Sandi over at Kwiltnkats. A Pincushion of the month subscription from Midway wool! The first two arrived with the walnut shells needed to fill all 12 pincushions.

The first two are Snowy Night and An Apple a day. Both are super cute and will be fun projects to work on. Thank you Sandi, for such a thoughtful gift.

Tree Farm will be on my design wall for the next couple of weeks and then back to working on the last two I Spy quilts. No changes to the stash below.

Used this week: 0 yards
Used YTD: 55.0 yards.
Purchased this week: 0 yards

Enjoy your Sunday and have a great week!

Design Wall Monday

March is here! Spring is already happening here in the Desert, with some flowers starting to bloom. We have a warm week ahead of us with temps in the mid to high 70's.

This week I will be starting on #11 UFO- Tree Farm by Laundry Basket Quilts. A lot of half square triangles in this one, and I will be using triangle papers for all 324 of them.

Tree Farm

I also have the BOM, Dutchman'a Puzzle, to complete for Sunrise Stitchers before next Tuesday. That is our Zoom meeting day. I sure hope we get to meet in person again soon.

Dutchman's Puzz;a

If that is not enough, I will be working on #3 of the I Spy Quilts. I always seem to have more than one project at a time on the Design Wall. Enjoy your Monday!
