Design Wall Monday

Happy Last Day of July!

It has been a hot one here in AZ, with 31 straight days of temps over 110! Crazy! Great time to be inside and getting some projects done.

This week I will be finishing up the big block, just need to add borders. Also in the works is another courthouse step charity quilt above. I will be working on this on Tuesday at my sewing group and hope to get all the blocks done. Fabrics are from a quilt called Union Blues that I made a couple of years ago. I will have to add in a few other fabrics and find a border to finish.

I am also hoping to tackle this basket of scraps! They will be cut up using my Accquilt into some half square triangles to use to make a split nine patch blocks.

Bonnie Hunter has a free pattern on her website, you can find it here. More handsewing is also on my list for the week. I hope to tackle block six of Vintage Valentine.

Have a great week!

Design Wall

On my design wall is a quilt for made from a collection of different fabrics. Above is a simple design to showcase the different designs.

The fabrics are 100% cotton and hand dyed with very large motifs. I believe they are made in a similar fashion as batiks. This should go together pretty fast and I hope to have done by the end of the month.

Have a great rest of the week!

Stash Report

It has been a month since my last post. DH and I took a trip to South Dakota and visited a couple of National Parks and monuments in the Black Hills, and then headed up to North Dakota to visit Teddy Roosevelt National Park. We ended up in Moab, Utah, for Fourth of July. You can see some of our travels posted here in facebook.

On our way home we stopped in Holbrok, AZ at one of my favorite quilt shops, Painted Desert Quilts. It is always great to see Betty and Steve the owners and pick up a few things for my stash. So much for my Fabric Diet!😁

More Grunge

Some great neutrals.

It was a long trip and I was home for a few days and then off to San Diego for a week, to visit the Grandkids. Needless to say, not much sewing was completed in the past month.

Here is the updated Stash Report:
