Design Wall Monday

This week Chilhowie will be on my design wall. Above are the nine-patches which make up part
of clue 1.  I will be working on the second half of clue 1 this week, with clue 2 dropping on Friday. It is not too late to join in, use the link above.

I am doing my own colors this year, red, green gold with neutrals, instead of Bonnie'so range, purple, aqua. Thought I would make it more Christmasy and I have lots of reds and greens!
Enjoy your week!

Design Wall

Thanksgiving already! This year has flown by. Enjoy your day with family and friends.

This week on my design wall are more of the Kaleidoscope blocks. Making progress and hope to get them all finished this week and start thinking about sashing.

Spoiler Alert! My Jolly box arrived from Fat Quarter Shop. These are fun quarterly boxes, usually with a pattern, fabric and some fun notions. This one had all of the fun goodies below.

It came with a panel and two charm packs and a cute pattern that will be fun to make. A new rotary cutter, omni rack, stash box for tools and, some clips. And of course some playing cards for those game nights! Next Box is usually available around Valentines.

Sunday Stash Report

This was a small finsih and was gifted to my daughter for her November birthday. It is a fabric basket that I quiltied on my Longarm. It turned out pretty cute and she loved it. Next I will be making one for me!

Purchased this week were the two fat quarter bundles of low volume neutrals. One of our Tuesday Sewing group ladies has a friend who is getting rid of all her quilting stuff, so these were purchased at a great price. And with Bonnie Hunters Mystery Quilt coming up on Friday, thought this would be a good add to the stash. Check out the link and see if you want to join in on the Mystery Quilt.

Stash numbers for the week:

Used this week: 1 yards.
Used YTD: 187 yards.
Purchased this week: 8 yards.
Purchased YTD:  135.5 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 51.5 yards.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Design Wall Monday

This week I attended two classes, on Tuesday  it was a Four-Patch Kaleidoscope class and on Wednesday, a class using Ten Sisters Grid. Above are the blocks from the Kaleidoscope class, which was a lot of fun. There is a bit of prep work before you cut, but once you start sewing the "Magic" happens. I will be working on more blocks this week as I will need 48 in all for the class. These blocks finish at 4", so not a super big quilt.

The other class, using Ten Sisters grid is under wraps for now, as it will be gifted for Christmas.

Busy week for me, hope you are working on something fun!

Sunday Stash Report

Finished this week is another of the 3 yard quilt, charity quilts for Sunrise Guild. This will go into the quilting que and hopefully get quilted soon. More of the pincushions were completed below. First two are from the pincushion of the month from last year, last one was from Primitive Gatherings.

More finishes! Two small wall hangings that were purchased as kits from our trip to Sitka, Alaska this past August. Still need to be quilted.

Busy week, finishing up some small projects. That is my theme this month as I wait for the first clue for Bonnie Hunters new mystery quilt. Release date is Black Friday. Check it out and see if you want to play along. I will be changing up the colors, but not set on final ones yet.

Used YTD: 186 yards.

Design Wall Monday

The charity quilt above will be on my design wall this week. This is from kits that my Tuesday sewing group put together for our guild. This is the last one that I have to put together and then I will be helping to quilt all of them. Our guild made 45 tops this summer. The pattern is from a 3-yard quilt book that your can find here. These are fast, fun easy projects to make.

I will also be working on a couple of a behind the scene projects that will become gits for the holiday. More to share on these later.

A busy week for me, with our Guild meeting tomorrow, and the Arizona Pinners Conference starting on Thursday night and Friday. I have never been to a Pinners Conference and am looking forward to it.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Sunday Stash Report

Halloween Hoopla

My first finsih for November, Halloween Hoopla. The original pattern was a bit bigger, but this was big enough for me, finishing at 80x80. It was nice to have two finishes in a row.

Also finally completed was this tote bag. I just had the handles and button to sew on and now I can call this done.

This was a block that was finished from Pony Express Fabrics. A little kit a purchased from the quilt shop in Julian a couple of years ago. I am trying to get to some smaller projects this month and get them out of the que.

Stash numbers for the week, looking better as we move into the last two months of the year.

Used YTD: 183 yards.
Purchased this week: 0 yards.
Purchased YTD:  127.5 yards.
