Happy New Years Eve!

Hard to believe we are on the last day of 2023, time just continues to fly.

A couple of small finishes for my last stash report of the year. These were completed as gifts for my 2 daughters.

Not too bad this year. 113 total yards used and only purchased 47. I will continue my fabric "diet" for 2024 and try to use up more of my stash along with finishing up some of my many UFO's!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! December has been one crazy month! First my DH was sick for two weeks, and then of course I caught the bug. This had me scrambling to delay my trip to San Diego to see all the Grandkids. I was able to finally take my trip, a few days later than I had planned, but we still had a great time!

Not much sewing has been completed this month, other than working on the units for Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt. I am almost caught up, and looking forward to the release of this weeks clue. You can find all the clues here, if you want to join in or save for later. So far I am liking all the units that we are making.

This week I will also be working on Block 11 of Vintage Valentine. I am so happy that I have been able to keep up with this BOM. There are only 2 more months to go and then putting it all together. I am also going to be working on my list of UFO's for 2024, with only two that will carry over from 2023. No finishes this week and nothing added to the stash.

Close up of Quilting

This is the other project that I am trying to spend a few hours each day working on and hoping to finish this month. This quilt was completed last year, but needed to be quilted. It is all custom quiltied. Both the quilt and the quilting patterns were designed by Kim Diamond of Sweet Dreams Quilt Studio. It is called Thoroughly Modern Christmas and was made entirely from my stash. This will take me awhile to get this one finished!

On the longarm.

I will be working on this, along with finishing up some behind the scenes projects and working on Clue 2 of the Bonnie Hunter Mystery. A lot to keep me busy, and I still need to get my tree up!

Happy December! 

This is what Clue #2 looks like before sewing. I hope to get this finished this coming week. I traded out the red for a lime green. Crossing my fingers that it will all look great in the end with all the blues.

 Block 10 of Vintage Valentine is prepped and ready for the hand sewing while I watch TV in the eveinings. Block 11 will be on the way soon!

Happy Thanksgiving

Bring on the Mystery! Bonnie Hunter's new mystery quilt starts today. You can read all about it and join in here. My first few units below completed. I will be working on this, inbetween other projects that need to be finished, through the month of December and probably into January.

This weekend I will also be working on prepping block #10 for Vintage Valentine. Yes, I am still keeping up with this BOM. There are 3 more months to go and then putting it all together. This will be on my UFO list to finish in 2024.

Sunday Stash Report

November has been a busy month, with not much sewing getting done. I will be working on finishing up the sampler quilt above. This was given to me with blocks completed, blocks needing to be completed and missing blocks. All I have left to fill in is the top right portion above. I will be using up scraps to try to put together a few blocks to complete this sampler. It will eventually be donated to a local charity.

No changes in the stash. Only a few more weeks to get all those UFO's done!

This week I will be working on sewing down all the applique for Vintage Valentine block #9. I am actually caught up on this BOM, with block #10 arriving after Nov 15. This BOM runs until February 2024 so I still have a few more months to go.

Also on the list this week is binding for two quilts. One is Chilhowie, Bonnie Hunter's Mystery from last year. Bonnie has just released the fabric colors for this years Mystery, you can find it here if you want to join in. This years Mystery is called Indigo Way and the first clue releases on November 24.

Arboretum

Finally a finish! Arboretum is finally done, all 99 blocks. It turned out great and is such a fun and colorful quilt. Into the quilting que it will go, though I still need to find a backing for it. Nothing purchased this week. Below are updated numbers.

Design Wall Monday

This is the week I hope to get all the rows sewn together for Aboretum and this top completed. It has been on my design wall way to long!

Bonnie Hunter, Chilhowie in christmas colors was also quilted and will be ready for binding this week.

As I get ready to leave later this week for my niece's wedding, I hope to also get to this cute little halloween quilt cut out and started. Hope to work on it this week at my sewing group. Should be a pretty easy one to get together.

Sunday Stash Report

It has been a busy couple of weeks here in Arizona. Joe and I just returned from a week long road trip to Cottonwood, AZ and then to Flagstaff. We took a hike through the Aspens in Flagstaff and visited the Lowell Observatory. The colors were beautiful on our hike, we saw the eclipse at Sunset Crater, and enjoyed our time at the Observatory seeing the stars and learning a little history. It was a fun trip to celebrate Joe's birthday!

Needless to say, not much sewing was done, with only a small finish. My easy fall tablerunner below. This will sit on our entry way table for a little fall color.

With a wedding coming up this next week, and family coming the begining of November, my sewing time is going to be limited. But I hope to get in a little time here and there as I still have two more UFO's to complete this year and a new Bonnie Hunter Mystery starting right after Thanksgiving.

Design Wall Monday

 

The picture is a bit dark, but this is Arboretum taking up my entire design wall. I have about 25 more blocks to go and the sewing all the rows together. The blocks go pretty fast, I just need to carve out some time to get it done.

Also distracting me this week is this cute little table runner by GE Designs. A super simple design that uses a 5" charm pack. I am making mine out of an autumn charm pack that I have had for awhile. I needed another smallish tablerunner for a spot in my house.

Blocks are already made and will be putting it together this week and hopefully getting it quilted. Backing and binding are ready!

October already! The year is flying by. I missed my posts last week, so this will be catch up.

Not too much sewing going on the past couple of weeks. I have been prepping applique for a couple of other projects, Flowers for my Wedding Ring and Vintage Valentine.

The top for Flowers for my wedding ring was completed last year with only the applique to go. I have been working on making all the applique pieces and hope to get them all down and ready for hand sewing this month.

Vintage Valentine is a BOM from Stitchin Heavin that was started this year. I am happy to say that I have been able to acutally keep up with this one, a first for me! I am prepping block #8, with #9 to be here around October 15th.

Nothing used this week and nothing added to the stash. I promise, finishes are coming soon!

On the design wall this week is more of the Arboretum blocks. Still have a ways to go with this one, but it had been fun to work on with all the different Kaffe fabrics.

Also in the works this week is prepping all the applique for block 8 for Vintage Valentine. It is in the last row, second from the right. Will be a busy week for me.

Turkey Tracks was finished this week. This is one big table runner, finishing at 32 x65. It will fill up my whole dining table. I will be working on more blocks for Arboretum this week and hope to have it finished by the end of September. Check back tomorrow to see my progress.

Design Wall Monday

 

Today is Patriot Day, in rembrance of 9/11. Above is a quilt I made using a fabric that show the fireman raising the flag over the rubble of the twin towers. This is a day that we should never forget.

More fall quilting on my design wall, this one called Turkey Trot. I still have to applique the legs and then piect the borders. A fun, fast tablerunner for fall. I hope to also get back to Arboretum this week. Always a lot hapening in my quilt studio.

Another finish this week! This autumn quilt is an hour glass pattern that I modified from Missouri Star Quilts Block Magazine. I pieced together the leftover's for backing, so more used from the stash! It is now on the Longarm and ready to quilt.

Design Wall

 

Fall is in the Air! Here is what I am working on this week. Simple hourglass blocks in autumn colors. I have had these fabrics for quite awhile and figured it was time to do something with them. This should be a finish this week!

Also started this week is my September UFO, called Aboretum. Super fun blocks to put together as you are just free form cutting and sewing in the strips. The quilt takes 99 blocks and are all different prints of Kaffe fabrics. I bought this as a kit last year at Rusty Barn quilt and craft show.

Sunday Stash Repot

A finiah this week! This will be a donation to Arizona Quilts for kids, once it is quilted.

One more block completed for the Sampler Quilt. All the sections are ready to be assembled. This will be put aside for awhile, until I get a photo from Mary.

Also completed last week was block 7 of Vintage Valentine. I will be prepping block 8 this coming week.

Yes, the Sewing and Craft expo was a winner. I came home with a few additions to the stash along with a fun embroidery pattern. More projects to keep me busy!

Design Wall Monday

August is flying by!This week I will be working on the the quilt above, another charity quilt with leftovers from the quilt for my grand niece. I also have a couple more of the blocks from the sampler to finish up. Mary from our  guild made the sampler quilt back in 2004 and I hope to get a picture of it from her to help me put it all together. It will be a donation when completed.

One more section complete for sampler quilt.

This week is also the Sewing and Craft festival at Westworld. Looking forward to checking out all the new stuff and adding to the stash!

It has been a busy couple of weeks, with not much sewing getting done. DH and I were on a road trip to Washington State the past couple of weeks and have been recovering since we got back last week. You can check out some of my pictures from our adventure here on Facebook.

The block above was completed this last week after I returned home. Hope to get the rest of them done this coming week, and this quilt put together sometime in the future. I was also able to finish quiling a couple of charity quilts and binding was put on. I will ask the ladies in my tuesday group to sew the binding down for me.

Nothing added to the stash, and we did not have the time or opportunity to visit any quilt shops on this trip. No change in the stash numbers.
