Design Wall Monday September 26, 2011

This week I am working on the blocks for the Medallion Quilt. I have finished 4 of the blocks and will be  working on #5.  I have three more after #5 to catch up with this block of the month. The blocks are pretty easy to piece together and I really like the hand dyed fabrics. I pick up the next block from Memory Lane  on Oct 1.

Sunday Stash Report September 25, 2011

Hard to believe it is Fall and September is almost over!  I thought I would share couple of Fall Quilts that are hanging in my house.

I finally get to report a finish- the Scrap Happy quilt is completed- will share pictures later this week for the September UFO finish.  Added a little to the stash this week- a great neutral that Sandi (kwiltnkats) picked up for me at Memory Lane. It is always nice to get a batik neutral-especially when it is on sale!

Sunday Stash Report, September 18, 2011

With all the sewing I did this week in Mammoth, I still do not have a completion to report. I am getting close to finishing Scrap Happy- the top is about halfway finished. Just need a couple of more days off-but have to return to work tomorrow. :(

We did get in some nice hiking to Rainbow Falls and took a side trip to Yosemite. Beautiful time of year- the leaves are just barely starting to change.

Design Wall Monday September 12, 2011

This week I have more of a design table vs a design wall. Below is a big pile of stuff I am working on this week while up in Mammoth Lakes. The neutral and blue squares are ready to be sewn in the first step of the Jamestown Landing Quilt by Bonnie Hunter. This pattern was in Australian Homespun Magazine and will be published in Bonnie's next book.  My friend Sandi is making it in pinks-Check it out at kwiltnkats

The other pile are the rest of the blocks for Scrap Happy. There are 113 of them and I am almost finished.
Next step will be cutting the 256 sashing strips and then assembling the top.

Have a great week and don't forget to check out all the other design walls at Patchwork Times.

Stash Report Sunday September 11, 2011

As I remember the10th Anniversary of 9/11 and where I was that day, my thoughts and prayers go out to all those that lost loved ones on that horrifying day. Stay vigilant America and never forget!

This week I am headed up to Mammoth for a week of hiking, relaxing and hopefully getting a bit of sewing done. No Quilt Shops up here so will have no opportunity to add to the stash. :)

Nothing used last week but do have a couple of purchases to report. Found a really great neutral to use in a future project- you can never have enough neutrals. Also picked up the next three blocks and the rest of the fabrics for the center medallion on the Medallion Block of the Month Quilt from Memory Lane Quilt Shop. Hope to get all the blocks done this week.

Design Wall Monday September 5, 2011

Happy Labor Day to all and hope every one is doing something fun today. We are actually having a bit of a rainy day here in San Diego- very unusual weather for us this time of year.

I also wanted to wish a Big Happy Birthday to my daughter Kayleigh who turns 25 today.  Hard to believe that I have a 25 year old daughter!

This week I am working on my September UFO- Scrap Happy. I have all the pieces cut out and am almost finished with putting together the blocks- there are only 113 of them!

When this bad boy is finished, it will go to the front of the quilting que as it will be going on my bed.
See what everyone else is working on at Patchwork Times.  Have a great week everyone!
