Stash Report

Vintage Valentine

Yes, I have finally finished Vintage Valentine! This took 13 months to complete as a BOM from Stitchin Heaven. I really enjoyed all the hand applique, but am ready to take a break from such a large project.

Isn't this Truck super cute? Sandi made this one for me, I did the quilting and binding and it is all ready for the 4th of July.

Above is my add for the week. Fabrics for the Allisyn's Wondered Land Quilt. The tow in the middle contrast more than what shows up in the photo. These should be fun to work with.

Numbers for this week:

 Used this week:  20 yards.
Used YTD: 97.5 yards.
Purchased this week: 12.0 yards.
Purchased YTD: 63 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 34.5 yards.

Have a great week!

Design Wall

This is going to be one of my next projects, Judy Niemeyer's Allisyn's Wondered Land. I will be using these colors as my inspriation, more of a fall look. The original quilt is in black/white/red. I already have the pattern and I am in the process of finding fabrics.

In the meantime, I am back to working on Fairy Duster. This was a BOM purchased in 2008. Yes a very old UFO! This will help refresh my paper piecing skills.

As always, a lot going on in my sewing room!
Have a great week!

Sunday Stash Report

We had a wonderful trip last week to Canyon de Chelly, where we took a jeep tour into the canyon. We saw many ruins along the canyon walls and pictographs from th Anasazi. Navajo Indians still live in the canyon during the summer.

Pictographs

We also stopped at the historic Hubble Trading Post, which was a fascinating place. There is a wonderful visitor center that tells the story of the importance of the Trading posts in the Southwest.

Hubble Trading Post.

Of course, our trip was not complete without a stop at my favorite quilt store in this area,
Painted Desert Quilts.  So there was some adding to the stash.

 Used this week:  0 yards.
Used YTD: 77.5 yards.

Design Wall

On my design wall this week is Spooktacular Stars. This is a small quilt and hopefully will be finished up pretty quickly. Next up will be finishing Vintage Valentine. I will be looking for some fabrics for the sashing and border. I am not all that happy with the ones that came with the BOM. Hopefully I can find something a little closer to the original.

Enjoy the rest of the week!

Design Wall

There have been some pretty funny April Fools jokes going around. Hope you did not get caught up in one! On my design wall this week is another UFO, Sew Gifted. This was a mystery box from Fat Quarter Quilt Shop in 2022. I am finally getting around to putting this one together. It finishes at 44x59 and primarily uses two charm packs and background yardage. The orginal had a bluish background, that I changed to a white snoflake. Hoping to finish this one up this week.

On the Longarm, is the last of the stack of charity quilts that I am quilting for Sunrise Stitchers. Next up will be a couple of my own charity quilts, and the Bats and Pumpkins Tabletopper.
Enjoy the first day of April!
