Sunday Stash Reprt.

A small finish this week along with a small addition to the Stash. More adds are coming as backing's have been orderd to finish off a couple of projects.

This finish was the last of the three Crazy Hearts Table runners that were my UFO for January. The other two were gifted to my sisters and are on the way to their new homes. This one I will be keeping for our rather large dining room table.

Crazy Hearts 3

The addition to the stast below is from Laundry Basket Quilts and is for my Mistletoe project, one of my UFO's for 2021. This will be used as binding. Will still need to purchase a backing for this one.

Also finished this week, today, are the blocks for Heart and Hand.

February blocks are picked out and prepped and ready to applique. I will have about 48 blocks finished and will be looking for a setting for them all.

Updated Numbers below. Happy last day of January and bring on February! Check back tomorrow to see what is on my design wall!

Design Wall Monday

It is a windy and wet day here in Scottsdale- but I can't complain, because we really need the rain.

With the finish of Grassy Creek, I am on to my next UFO, Suprise. This was a kit that was purchased in 2006 on a trip to Houston Quilt Market. Yes, it has been hanging around for a long time.

Suprise

I will be starting the cutting of Suprise, along with cutting and sewing the next six blocks for Vintage Christmas. Also cutting out one more of the crazy heart table runners.

Heart #3 cut out and ready to sew.

On the longarm this week is Chic Kisses, by Sew Kind of Wonderful. Started in a class at Road to CA, the top was finished in 2017 and is now finally getting quilted. All this should keep me busy, with rain the next two days and later this week.

Chic Kisses

Enjoy your week!

Sunday Stash Report

A very rainy day here in the desert, a very welcome site. Also a great day to spend time in the sewing room. Finished this week is Grassy Creek and another UFO for 2021. Two down and 10 more to go!

Grassy Creek-top done

My Grassy Creek ended up smaller than Bonnie's version. Still pretty big at 80x80. The side borders had to be modified a bit to fit, but I am very pleased with the result. Into the quilting que it goes, as I wait to receive a backing that is on order.

Arriving this week was the Cupid box from Fat Quarters. Very fun valentines box with Fat eighth bundle, pattern, heart clips, measuring tape and charm.

The fabrics were super cute and make a fun easy quilt for Valentines.

So, a small add to the stash and a nice deduction with the finish of Grassy Creek.

Used this week: 15 yards
Used YTD: 21.5 yards.
Purchased this week: 1 yards
Purchased YTD:  3 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 18.5 yards.

Have a great week!

Design Wall Monday

This week will be spend finishing up Grassy Creek. Have a few more units to make for the side borders and then string units for the final border. Like how it is looking so far.

Grassy Creek

I also hope to get to the next 6 blocks for Vintage Christmas that arrived late last week. So far these have been fun and pretty easy even with all the pieces.

We are expecting a rainy week here in the desert, but we really need the rain. Hope you are working on something fun!

Design Wall Monday

This week I will be working on finishing up Grassy Creek. You can still get the instructions for this quilt until the end of the month. I have decided to go with a 16 block layout, a bit smaller than Bonnie's finished version. This will entail making a few more units of each of the clues, but that should be easy enough. Below are the Ohio Start blockes from clue 7.

Ohio Star blocks

Next step, adding more of the units to make completed block.

Completed Blocks

I will be working on completing the sashing and then more string units for the outer border. Also up this week on the longarm is the quilting of Second Hand Clothes. This quilt top was completed in 2014 and just needed quilting and binding.

Second Hand Clothes

Busy week ahead!
