A finish this week, my Leymone Star quilt. I was able to get sashing and border completed. This was made from a Layer Cake and some extra yardage. Backing came from my stash.

The same projects will be on the design wall again this week, as no progress was made last week. Leymone Star quilt is ready for sashing and borders, but I may take the strip block out put another in.

These will be my projects to finish this week along with quilting an applique quilt for Sandi. I also have a couple of small projects in the works for Christmas- so won't be able to share until later. Don't forget, Bonnie Hunter will be starting her Winter Mystery this weekend, with fabric colors to start collecting. Make sure you check out her blog.

Sunday Stash Report

Back from our trip to Tombstone this afternoon. We had a great time riding and visiting both Tombstone and Bisbee. We stayed outsiede of Tombstone at the Tomstone Monument Ranch. It was a great place, with an old western town, horseback riding and other activities.

The Ranch

Me on our history ride.

Both Tombstone and Bisby are old mining towns with a lot of interesting western history. Tombstone is most famous for " The shoot out at OK corral" which is depicted in the movie "Tombstone" from 1993. Bisby is close to the Mexico border and is a funky artist town with many antique stores.

Downtown Bisby.

No finishes this week, as we were on the road. When I returned home, my Spooky box from
Fat Quarters Quilt Shop was waiting for me. It contained the cute halloween fat quarters, a spooky box, bookmark, pattern, and ring thread cutter.

Design Wall Monday

This week on the design wall is the next of the Calendar Quilts. This one is for December and will be a Christmas Tree. Background is all cut out and ready to sew. Next up will be fusing, and sewing down the applique.

Background

Also up, is finishing my small Leymone Star quilt. Blocks were cut with the Accquilt Go Cutter and were super easy to sew together. They finish at 9", so this will end up with some sashing and a border and I will call it finished.

Leymone Star Blocks

Not much will get accomplished this week, as we are off on a little trip to Southern AZ. Heading to Tombstone Monument Ranch for a few days. Maybe even some horseback riding. Should be a fun little getaway.

Enjoy your Monday! Happy Sewing!

Sunday Stash Report

A big finish this week with Prairie Star completed. I was a bit usure of all the y-seams and how it would all go togther and if it would lay flat, but it turned out great. I will be using all the leftover fabrics for the backing and will be putting that together when I get closer to quitling. I am really happy with the results!

Prairie Star

Another small, almost, finish also happened this week from the class with Sunrise Quilters. This is my Celtic K using fusible bias tape. I still need to put the applique circles at the ends of all the branches and will be prepping them this week.

Celtic K
I could not pass up these super cute Halloween fat quarters from Missouri Star Quilts. As an extra bonus they glow in the dark! Something cute for the grandkids will be made with these, but probably for next year.

So a big finish and small add to the stash this week.

Used this week: 30 yards
Used YTD: 229.0 yards.
Purchased this week: 1.25 yards
Purchased YTD:  133.75 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 95.25 yards.

Almost to the 100 mark! Have a great week!

Design Wall Monday

Happy Birthday to my DH today!

With all the units completed for Prairie Star, I will be sewing them all together this week. There are alot of Y-seams in this part. Hope to have this quilt finished this week and in the longarm que.

Next up are these Lemoyne Star blocks that were cut with the Accquilt. I used a pack of 10" squares that I had in my stash and cut 10 blocks in about 5 minutes, all ready to sew! I am really loving my new Accquilt cutter, it has been great for cutting strips, especially binding strips.

This will be a fun red and white quilt with sewing themed fabrics. Tomorrow will be a workshop with Sunrise Quilt Guild. We are doing Celtic Initials, using fusible binding. This process will be a first for me. Check back for pictures later this week

Sunday Stash Report

Happy October! The year is flying by and I am happy for the cooler weather here in AZ, although today it will be 92.

Finished this week is Vintage Christmas. I am happy with the results and hope to get quilted this week, to be ready for the holidays. The binding and finishing trim are the last month of this BOM from Stitchin Heaven and are on the way. Super fun blocks to make and I will be using up some of the scraps for some Mug Mats for the Grandkids.
