Design Wall Monday

I am making progress on Mistletoe, but taking a break this week as we are on our trip to Moab, to see the National Parks. Today we spent the morning in Arches, and took a couple of hikes to see some of the arches.

Broken Arch

We hiked this beautiful slot canyon, near Broken Arch.

On to my project for the week, the 4th of the I spy quilts. Hope to get this one finished during this trip and then start the quilting when I get home. Below is my sewing station set up in our hotel room. I always like to travel with my Janome and I had a perfect corner to set up everything.

I was also hoping to go to a quilt shop called Sew Moab, and found out that it was right across the street from my hotel. Unfortunately it has moved to on-line sales only and the storefront was closed.😞

More on my travels later this week, and hope to go to another quilt shop called Canyonland Quilts.

Happy Sewing!

Sunday Stash Report

This week I am on the road again. We are off to  Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, with a river rafting trip squeezed in the middle. On the road today we passed by Monument Valley, it is closed right now so we were not able to go into the valley. But we still got some great pics along the way.

Looking back from Utah

We also passed this funny balanced rock called Mexican Hat, just outside the little town of, you guessed it, Mexican Hat.

Now to the stash report, nothing added, and only a small finish to report. The quilt below was made for #3 granddaughter, so she would have a doll quilt just like her big sisters.

Design Wall Monday

This week I will be working on more of the Ohio Star blocks for Mistletoe-they seem to be never ending! These are all cut and ready to sew. After this batch only 30 more to go!

Below is the center of the quilt, with all the applique finished. This is my May UFO for Sunrise Stitchers and needs to be complete by our May 11 guild meeting. It will be a push to get it finished as I have 2 trips between now and when it is due!

On the longarm this week is a quilt from Sandi. This John Deere quilt is a remake of a quilt that Sandi made for a little boy in 2018. Unfortunately the original was lost in a fire, so Sandi made an almost identical one, and I will am quilting for her with same pattern and thread.

Hope you are having a great Monday and are getting some sewing in this week.

Sunday Stash Report

Not much sewing was finished last week, as we spent 4 days in Sedona. We enjoyed beautiful weather, great scenery and very nice hiking.

Bell Rock

We discovered Red Rock Park, after trying to hike a trail that was so crowded that we could not find a place to park. That is the downside to going to Sedona in April- it is very busy. Red Rock State Park was a gem, with great hiking trails, and Oak Creek flowing through the center of the park. Three sisters below was one of the rock formations that we were able to view.

Three Sisters

When I arrived home this was waiting for me. A fat quarter bundle of neutrals from Rebsfabstash. My friend Sandi had used these in one of her quilts and I loved them, so had to purchase. They will be used in a couple of future projects.

Only adds this week, nothing finished.

Used this week: 0 yards
Used YTD: 74.5 yards.
Purchased this week: 5.5 yards
Purchased YTD:  62.0 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 12.5 yards.

I know, I am going in the wrong direction, but finishes will be happening soon!
Have a great week!

Design Wall Monday

On my design wall this week are last months blocks for Vintage Christmas, one more to go, then on to April's blocks.

Making progress on the Ohio Star blocks with 25 finished. 75 more to go.

On the longarm is a quilt called Rotation. This was completed back in 2017 from blocks that I won from Sunshine Quilt Guild. Nice to get this one finished.

Rotation

My Pincushion of the Month from Sandi arrived right before I left for my trip. This is a pretty one! I now have 3 and I am looking forward to getting started on these.

I am off to Sedona for my birthday, so not to much will get done. Have a great week!

Sunday Stash Report

It has been a busy two weeks since my last post. I had a great trip to San Diego over easter to see my Grandkids, visit some friends, and a trip to the Zoo.

A trip to Rosies with Sandi was a must, where a few new additions to the stash happenend.  Rosies is a must stop on my trips to San Diego. We also enjoyed a nice lunch at one of my favorite resturants, The Brigantine. Fat quarters were added below for a couple of future projects.

Also added were the pinks and neutrals for Mistletoe. I realized that I might not have enough to finish all the Ohio Star blocks, so a few additions were needed.

Greens were added for binding a couple of future quilts.

The fabrics below will go into quilt for my new granddaughter who will be arriving in July.

Lastly a backing for a quilt top that was purchased awhile back from a Sunshine quilt guild auction.

Finishes include a couple of doll dresses and quilts that were started on my trip. Violet my oldest granddaughter wanted to learn how to sew with a machine. So we spent some time putting together the quilt centers below, one for her and one for her sister. They were brought back home for "Nana" to finish.

The girls put together the centers with 2.5" squares and I brought them home to finish.
