Design Wall Monday

Happy Monday!
We are having a heat wave here in San Diego. Temperatures will be close to 100 in my area of town. Thoughts and prayers go out to all in Texas dealing with the rain and flooding.

This week I will be working on more of my Dear Jane blocks. I am working on the paper pieced blocks, some with applique, and have them lined up and ready to go.

Paper piecing ready to go!

Below are the finishes from yesterday.

I hope to have my Dear Jane Quilt finished, (or at least the top finished) by the time the next DJ Cowgirl Round Up rolls around in late June of 2018.

Later this week I will be starting on one of the three UFO's I have left to complete this year. In between I have two baby quilts to make. Busy week ahead for me!

Sunday Stash Report

Another finish for this week! My August UFO Maltese Circles is done.

Maltese circle
I used all but 2 of the blocks and made it a little smaller than the original pattern. I purchased the yellow dot fabric for setting squares and inner border. The blue border fabric is from my stash.

Just a small add this week, and a little on the usage side. The blocks were won, so I will be only claiming what I used for the borders and backing.

Used this week: 5.0 yards.
Used YTD:  149.5 yards.
Purchased this week: 1.5 yards.
Purchased YTD: 97.5 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 53.5 yards.

Today will be a sewing and relaxing Sunday for me. I will be working on my Dear Jane blocks, and planning a couple of baby quilts for my nephew's new baby girl, as I await the call for September UFO.

Stash Report

Happy Solar Eclipse Day! Hope you will be able to watch this phenomenon. I will be working, but hope to head out to get a glimpse. Don't forget your eye protection!

A big finish this week, with Lazy Sunday. This is a pattern from Bonnie Hunter in her book, More Adventures with Leaders and Enders. I will not lie, this was a lot of work and a lot of pieces, but the results are stunning!

Lazy Sunday
This really helped the stash report, with over 17 yards used up!

Used this week: 17.5 yards.
Used YTD:  144.5 yards.
Purchased this week: 0 yards.
Purchased YTD: 96 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 48.5yards

Have a great week!

Design Wall

Happy Hump Day!
This week on my Design Wall I have two quilts that are almost finished!. Lazy Sunday only needs two borders sewn on and then a finish. This will be my project tonight after work today.

Lazy Sunday
Next up this week is Maltese Circles. This is my UFO for August. The blocks were won from Sunshine Quilt Guild block of the month awhile back. All it needs is sashing and a couple of small borders. Hope to have it finished up by the end of the week.

Maltese Circles

Have a great rest of the week and check back to see my progress on Sunday. Hope to have a positive update on the Stash Report.

Greetings from Arnold CA, Home of the Big Trees.

It has been a busy couple of weeks, since my last post. This week I am in the beautiful Sierra Mountains in a little town called Arnold. Not far up the road from Arnold is Big Trees Park, home to some of the largest Redwood trees in the state. It is also home to one of my favorite places to Beaver Creek.

I am also getting in a little sewing this week, working on Lazy Sunday.

Purple Border pieces.

Trimming Triangles.
Happy Sewing!
