Design Wall Monday

Happy Memorial Day and the last day of May.

This week on the design wall is still Laundry Basket Mystery, hoping fabrics come so I can finish the top, but will also get started on the blocks for the borders.

My Michigan

Also on its way to a finish is my May UFO, Sewing Baskets. All the baskets blocks are complete, labeled, and ready to sew into rows. Borders are cut, so this will be a finish this week!

Basket Blocks

My UFO for June is Grassy Creek, which is already complete, Yeah! So I will circle back to April's UFO, Hocus Pocus, and will also be working on the quilt for my newest grandaughter who is due to arrive by July 1.

This week also finds me with a lot of binding to work on in the evenings. I finished quilting a few of my quilts the past few weeks and now the binding is piling up. I have lots to keep me busy this week!

Enjoy your week and happy sewing!

Design Wall Monday

This week I will hopefully be finishing up the Laundry Basket Mystery quilt. I am awating a couple of needed fabrics to get this one complete. Below is where I am so far, still have a few more blocks to complete before sewing together.

Here is the finish with the applique borders that I like the best. Not sure if I want to tackle all that applique. Will have to think about this one.

On the longrm this week is another Bonnie Hunter pattern called Talkin Turkey. I finished piecing this one in 2014. I am slowly getting through my backlog of quilt tops and my goal is to be all caught up by the end of the year.

Design Wall

This week finds me working on two projects, the Laundry Basket Mystery quilt and Sewing Baskets.

Below is my progress on the Mystery. I am a little bit behind, because I ran out of one of the backgrounds. It should be here this week so I can catch up. In the meantime I am working on what I can with the fabrics I have on hand. I like what is happening so far.  The fabrics are really pretty.

Next up is my May UFO Sewing baskets. Another Laundry Basket pattern. This time is it all in solids that I had left from the Spools Quilt. So far I have the basket handles all prepped for applique and most of the baskets cut out. There are 30 baskets in this quilt.

Design Wall Monday.

I am happy to report that Mistletoe is finally finished, all 100 Ohio star blocks and feathered star center. Love how it turned out! I may still add applique to the border, but for now I am calling it done.

On to finishing I spy quilt #4 this week and working on the Vintage Christmas blocks. First two are done, with 4 more to go. The new ones are on the way.

I Spy #4-10 more blocks to make.

Vintage Christmas

Also received my May pincushion kit. (Thank you Sandi!) This one is super cute and I really need to get started on these, so they don't end up as UFO's for next year.

May Pincushion

I am off to Sacramento to see my Mom for Mother's Day Weekend, on Thursday. Still hope to get a few things done before I leave. Maybe I will take a pincushion to work on.

Happy Sewing!
