Design Wall

This week on the design wall will be sewing together the units for Dawbs Early Light. Pinwheels and Triangles are done and will be sewn to the string units made earlier.

Below are 16 blocks that will be put together to make one big block. I will need to make 9 on the big blocks for the center of the quilt and then all the borders.

This is definately one involved project, but I know I will love the results. Enjoy your week and Happy Sewing!

Design Wall

Hope you are enjoying your Labor Day! We are spending the day getting ready to leave on a road trip tomorrow to Montana. My Dawns Early light will be coming with me and hope to make some progress on all the units that need to be completed.

Dawn's Early Light- Bonnie Hunter

I hope to get this quilt completed by the end of September, before the next UFO is called. I have 3 more to go for this year.

We will be taking our time, so I hope to hit a few quilt shops on the way. Looking for a couple of backings, and some cat fabrics for Sandi- check out the Cat project she is working on here.

Have a great week!

Sunday Stash Report

Happy Labor day Weekend!

It is a hot weekend here in AZ, with temps reaching around 110. Glad we will be heading out of town on Tuesday for cooler temps!

I was able to get the Snowflake Mystery finished this week. There were a couple of options for the center block: a sawtooth star block, a ninepatch, or to just leave it a plain block. I opted for the star in the center and added 2.5" strips for the borders. I am calling this one done and I like the way it turned out. The best thing is all the fabrics are from my Stash.

Thank you Sue for hosting this one and I am looking forward to seeing how others in our group finished this one.

Usage is getting better. Hope to hit 100 yards by the end of the year, and not add too much more to the stash,

Used this week: 7.5 yards
Used YTD: 154.0 yards.
Purchased this week: 0 yards
Purchased YTD:  76.5 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 77.5 yards.

Enjoy your holiday tomorrow!
