Design Wall Monday

This week I am making the star blocks for Summer Stars quilt.

Summer Stars
There are 14 wonky stars, so 11 more to go. I will finish them up tomorrow during my weekly sewing group. Hope to finish up this quilt this week for a stash reduction. I have the borders all cut and read to sew in place. Have a great week!

Sunday Stash Report

June is flying by and I have a finish to report this week!

R2CA Mystery
This quilt finished at 48x60 and will go into the quilting que. Not sure yet how it will be quilted, but no borders, just a binding if I can find more of the blue. It is Kona Cotton Riveria, and right now seems to be out of stock in all the usual places. The good news is, it should be back in stock in September or October.

There was a rather large add to the stash this week, as I purchased a kit for Autum Love by Lori Holt. The kit has about 14 yards of fabric- all I need to creat the quilt below.

Autum Love

Updated stash numbers below. Working on another finish for this week.

Used this week: 6 yards
Used YTD:  93.5 yards.
Purchased this week: 14 yards
Purchased YTD:  47.5 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD:  46.0 yards.

Design Wall Monday

Monday night will find me in New mexico, but still have a project on the Design Wall to share.

Pattern is from Missouri Star Quilts, called Summer Stars. The two empty sections will have 6" wonky star blocks that I am in the process of making. Finish will have to wait until I return. No sewing machine on this trip, just some hand applique blocks that will hopefully be completed.

Happy Sewing!

Sunday Stash Report

Happy Fathers Day!

Nothing added and nothing used in the Stash this week. Instead I will share some photos from a hike DH and I took this past week. We headed out to Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, where we took the West fork oak creek trail.

This beautiful hike follows the oak creek into a canyon with towering canyon walls, beautiful trees and the creek, which you have to cross 13 times. It was a long hike, about 7 miles round trip, but realativly easy.

Me in the creek.

Beautiful trees.

Colorful Canyon walls.

Yes, we were a bit tired at the end, but a stop at Dairy Queen helped revive us for the drive home.

Tomorrow I am off to New Mexico to meet up with my sisters for a visit to our Dad. It has been awhile since I have been to NM, so looking forward to our time together.

Have a great week!

Sunday Stash Report

Nothing finished this week and nothing added to the Stash. I am slowly working on the Mystery Quilt from the class I took at Road to Ca. This is not one of my favorite projects as it is only two colors and two different blocks Just a bit boring, but still want to get this one finished.

Three more rows finished with 8 more to go!

I did complete this Rosebud block as our BOM for Sunrise Stitchers. We had our virtual meeting on Tuesday with lots of sharing. We are hoping to be able to get together soon.

No changes to the numbers! Now that some of our Quilt shops are opened- I hope to be able to get some shopping in!

Used this week: 0 yards
Used YTD:  87.5 yards.
Purchased this week: 0 yards
Purchased YTD:  33.5 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD:  54 yards.

Have a great week!

Sunday Stash Report

I missed posting last week, so will have to catch up today! Finishes are happening here in the AZ quilt studio. First off, Unity is finally done and will be ready to quilt this week, in between a few client quilts. I do like how it turned out and it will be going on the daybed in one of our guest rooms- I call it my Patriotic room as there is a big flag print and more red/white/blue quilts on display.

Unity top complete

Also, finished were the Liberty Pincushions. I have them displayed in a bowl on our dining room table. They turned out so cute and another UFO is complete!

I have been busy with finishes the last two weeks! Also done were my four blocks for May for the Heart & Hand group.
