Design Wall

This is the last of the three patriotic quilts that I have been working on in July. Was hoping to get all three finished, but it is not looking like I will make it. I am going to look at my panel book to see how I might want to set this one off, so this project may take a bit longer.

In the meantime, I am back to working on the puppy quilt for my granddaughter. This has been on the back burner for awhile and it is time to get the dogs all appliqued down and get this one in the finished column.

Stash Report

I was able to finish three of these this week! They will be added to the quilting que and hope to get to them soon. My quilting que is filling up!!

On our trip to Prescott, we stopped at Cloth Plus Quilt shop in Prescott Valley. If you are ever in the area this is a great one to check out. Nothing fancy, just a great selection of quilting cottons, and they carry some decorator fabrics also. It is run by a women and her son and they are the nicest people.

Some great conversational neutrals.

Backings for projects that are in the works.

So here is the damage this week!

Used this week: 15 yards.
Used YTD: 94.5 yards.
Purchased this week: 14.5 yards.
Purchased YTD: 41.5 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 53 yards.

Design Wall

This is the last of three charity quilts that I am working on this week from our Sew-in yesterday. It is  called conversation bricks and is made from all of the novelty fabrics that I had in my stash. I had  enough cut out to make 3+ of these and hope to get them all done this week. These were super easy and fun to cut out and make and I may do a few more with other fabrics from my stash. They finish at 40x48, a perfect size for Project Linus. We are off to Prescott tomorrow to escape from the heat for a few days. It is supposed to be about 115 over the weekend, the hottest days so far this summer!

Design Wall

We are having a monsoon week here in Arizona. Above is one of the beautiful sunsets that we are treated to when the monsoon arrives. Not much rain for us yet, but that could change over the next few days.

I am making great progress on A little Freedom. Fabrics from Sandi arrived and I was able to get all the blocks finished. Next up will be sewing them to the center. I will have to wait a bit, as I had to order more of the red fabric for the borders. Also ordered a toile America 250 fabric for the backing. As soon as they arrive this one will be done! One more patriotic quilt to go this month and it should be a pretty easy one to put together as it starts with another panel. Looking forward to getting these all finished,

Stay cool and happy sewing!

Design Wall

Hope you all had a wonderful Fourth of July and were out celebrating for America's 250th Birthday.

I am sticking to my RWB theme this month with more blocks QOV blocks. The centers were a BOM that I won awhile back. I added the strips to make them 12" finished and will donate all for our QOV projects. This week I will also be working on A little freedom during my Tuesday Sewing group. Hope to get more of the blocks done and get this one into the finished column.

Have a great week!
