On the Long arm is one of the tree wall hangings that Sandi and I are making for the craft fair for Sunshine Quilt Guild. You can check out the other finished wall hangings at Kwiltnkats.

Sunday Stash Report

Just back from a trip to San Diego to visit family and friends, so no sewing this week and nothing finished. A few additions were made with a trip to Cozy Creative Center and Memory Lane with Sandi. Unfortunately Memory Lane will be closing at the end of the year, so sad to hear of yet another quilt shop closing.

Adds to the stash include the pinks and greens below, purchased for Bonnie Hunter Mystery that will start next week, the day after Thanksgiving. You can find all the information here. Her Mystery quilts are always fun and she gives great directions, with a lot of  tips and tricks. I have never been disappointed with the final quilt.

Greens

Pinks

Also purchased was a neutral that I will use in a future Laundry Basket Quilt Pattern.

Sandi's Mom, Betty, gifted me with the cute purse below and some sewing fabrics for my stash. She always makes great purses and is so generous.

So here are the numbers. I better get busy with some finishes!

Used YTD:  116.5 yards.
Purchased this week:  9 yards
Purchased YTD: 84.5 yards.

It will be a short week here in Scottsdale as I am off to San Diego on Wednesday to see family and friends. Looking forward to my trip, but probably won't get too much sewing done.

A walk up Pinnacle Peak

Image result for pinnacle peak

We live close to Pinnacle Peak and can see it from our front yard. This is a well know landmark in the Scottsdale area and is a park with a challenging hike. DH and I decided to hike it today and made it all the way to the end and back- about a 4 mile hike with  a lot of ups and downs.

At the top.

View of Valley
The Peak.

With all the ups and downs of the trail, think stair master, we were pretty tired after this hike. But it was worth it for the great views that you get on all sides of the peak.

Design Wall Monday

Nothing on the design wall this week, but pieces are cut out to make 4 more of the tree table runners. These will be given as Christmas gifts to some of my family members.

Hope to have them sewn together this week, but I will also be working on quilting all the Tree wall hangings for Sunshine Quilt Guild. Below are the first two that I will tackle. There are 3 more after these.

Sandi over at Kwiltnkats put them all together from blocks that I won many years ago. They all turned out great and will go into the craft show in December.

Have a great week and happy sewing!

Gammill Quilt With Confidence Tour

Selfie!
I was lucky to be able to attend one of the two day Gammill classes up in Flagstaff this week. Even though I have a computerized long arm, I decided to take the hand guided class. The class was super informative, gave a lot of practical instruction with time to spend practicing on the machines. I came away with a better understanding of how and where to begin practicing, and what skills I needed to become more proficient at to improve my hand-guided quilting.

Overview of class.

Practice Machines
Our instructors Karen and Sharon were extremely skilled and did a great job teaching. I would definitely recommend taking a class if you have the chance.
