Design Wall

This week on the design wall are two projects. Vintage Christmas will be up for a finish. Blocks are done and sashing and borders are needed to complete.

Vintage Christmas Blocks.

Next up I will be working on the border units for Prairie Star. Below is where I am so far with center and side units complete. It will all be sewn together when the border units are done.

Prairie Star

I like how it looks so far and have only changed out one fabric. This has been a challenging quilt, but I am enjoying the paper piecing process.

Have a great week and happy sewing!

Sunday Stash Report

It is a wet, rainy day here in AZ! No complaints, cause we can always use the rain.

DH and I  are back home from our Road Trip and what an amazing time we had. We set off for Bryce Canyon National Park last Tuesday with a drive through Staircase Escalante National Monument, on  scenic highway 12.  We arrived mid afternoon and took a secnic drive in the park.

Natural Bridge

The next day we took a hike among the Hoodoos, through Wall Street and Queens Garden. It was a very beautiful hike with many twists and turns through the canyon. We took so many pictures, below are just a few.

Design Wall Monday

Today we are in Capital Reef National Park, with beautiful weather.

The scenery was beautiful with cliffs, domes bridges and canyons. We drove a secnic drive that ended up on a dirt road and hiked up Capital Gorge Trail.

We stopped for fruit Pies from the historic Gifford House in the Fruita area of the Park. Then on to another hike to Hickman Bridge

This week I will be working on some hand sewing projects, bindings and a couple of wool projects are prepped and ready when we have some down time.

Busy week on the road! Happy Sewing!

No finishes this week, still working on Prarire Star and it will be waiting for me when I get home. Added to the stash this week was a grunge background for a future project. I may use it for the American Quilters Stitch along by Primitive Gatherings. Still deciding....

Prairie Star remains on my Design wall this week, but progress is being made! I am now working on step 5 of 6, and just maybe, I will have all steps complete by the end of the week and will be able to start sewing sections together.

Step 5 in progress.

I am really happy with how it is turning out and enjoying the paper-piecing process. I have had to change up a couple of fabrics, but so far so good. Last step is the outer border pieces. Hope to start them later this week
