Design Wall

This week on the design wall will be sewing clue 5 for Chilhowie. Above are a few of the finished blocks. I like how my colors are comeing out so far.  I will also be working on Thoroughly Modern Christmas this week, below is where I am so far.

I am using a bunch of fat quarters bought a couple of years ago at the San Diego Quilt show. I will have to add in more neutral and red which I already have in my stash, but will need to purchase a little more of the light and dark green. I am hoping to find when we head to Winslow for New Years, at a quilt shop in Holbok, called the Painted Desert.

I am also back to longarming this week with finishing up some charity quilts for Sandi and then a custom project for me. Finally going to start quilting Prairie Star that was finished in 2021.

We have some rainy weather coming this week on Wednesday and Thursday, perfect sewing days!
Enjoy your last week of 2022, Happy New Year!

Design Wall

It has been a busy week for me, so no stash report this week. I was off to San Diego on the 15th and returned on the 20th. It was so fun to spend time with family and friends. The beautiful blocks above were gifted to me by my friend Sandi. These will find a home in my quilting studio, maybe on a shelf.

Here I am with 3 of my 5 grandkids and of course Santa. We had a busy couple of days with a dance recital, christmas movies, dinner at Marieta's, pictures with Santa, and of course opening some of our Christmas gifts early.

Clue 3

Clue 4

The only downside is that I came home with a cold, which has me stuck at home. But I was able to complete clue 3 and 4 for Chilhowie. Today was the release of Clue 5, you can check it out here.
I am off to get started on clue 5, along with cutting out pieces for the Thoroughly Modern Christmas Quilt- using almost all stash for this one too.

Enjoy your time before Christmas!

Chilhowie Clue 3

Clue 3 is cut and ready to sew. These were all cut using my Accquilt, which made short work of all these units. Check out clue three here. The sewing will have to wait for my return from my trip to San Diego this week. Looking forward to seeing family and friends. I will be playing catch up next week after I return.

Tomorrow is our Guild Christmas party/potluck. It is always a fun time with great food, fun games and of course a white elephant gift exchange.  Hope you have some fun holiday parties planned. Happy Monday!

Thinking about getting back to Autumn Love, in between Chilhowie. Will at least prep the next applique block which is the Milk Can. I also have another christmas quilt I might work on. Decisions, decisions.😁

Have a great week!

Thanksgiving already! This year has flown by. Enjoy your day with family and friends.

This week on my design wall are more of the Kaleidoscope blocks. Making progress and hope to get them all finished this week and start thinking about sashing.

Spoiler Alert! My Jolly box arrived from Fat Quarter Shop. These are fun quarterly boxes, usually with a pattern, fabric and some fun notions. This one had all of the fun goodies below.

It came with a panel and two charm packs and a cute pattern that will be fun to make. A new rotary cutter, omni rack, stash box for tools and, some clips. And of course some playing cards for those game nights! Next Box is usually available around Valentines.

Sunday Stash Report

This was a small finsih and was gifted to my daughter for her November birthday. It is a fabric basket that I quiltied on my Longarm. It turned out pretty cute and she loved it. Next I will be making one for me!

Purchased this week were the two fat quarter bundles of low volume neutrals. One of our Tuesday Sewing group ladies has a friend who is getting rid of all her quilting stuff, so these were purchased at a great price. And with Bonnie Hunters Mystery Quilt coming up on Friday, thought this would be a good add to the stash. Check out the link and see if you want to join in on the Mystery Quilt.

Stash numbers for the week:

Used this week: 1 yards.
Used YTD: 187 yards.
Purchased this week: 8 yards.

Design Wall Monday

This week I attended two classes, on Tuesday  it was a Four-Patch Kaleidoscope class and on Wednesday, a class using Ten Sisters Grid. Above are the blocks from the Kaleidoscope class, which was a lot of fun. There is a bit of prep work before you cut, but once you start sewing the "Magic" happens. I will be working on more blocks this week as I will need 48 in all for the class. These blocks finish at 4", so not a super big quilt.

The other class, using Ten Sisters grid is under wraps for now, as it will be gifted for Christmas.

Busy week for me, hope you are working on something fun!

Finished this week is another of the 3 yard quilt, charity quilts for Sunrise Guild. This will go into the quilting que and hopefully get quilted soon. More of the pincushions were completed below. First two are from the pincushion of the month from last year, last one was from Primitive Gatherings.

More finishes! Two small wall hangings that were purchased as kits from our trip to Sitka, Alaska this past August. Still need to be quilted.

Busy week, finishing up some small projects. That is my theme this month as I wait for the first clue for Bonnie Hunters new mystery quilt. Release date is Black Friday. Check it out and see if you want to play along. I will be changing up the colors, but not set on final ones yet.

Design Wall Monday

The charity quilt above will be on my design wall this week. This is from kits that my Tuesday sewing group put together for our guild. This is the last one that I have to put together and then I will be helping to quilt all of them. Our guild made 45 tops this summer. The pattern is from a 3-yard quilt book that your can find here. These are fast, fun easy projects to make.

I will also be working on a couple of a behind the scene projects that will become gits for the holiday. More to share on these later.

A busy week for me, with our Guild meeting tomorrow, and the Arizona Pinners Conference starting on Thursday night and Friday. I have never been to a Pinners Conference and am looking forward to it.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Halloween Hoopla

My first finsih for November, Halloween Hoopla. The original pattern was a bit bigger, but this was big enough for me, finishing at 80x80. It was nice to have two finishes in a row.

Also finally completed was this tote bag. I just had the handles and button to sew on and now I can call this done.

This was a block that was finished from Pony Express Fabrics. A little kit a purchased from the quilt shop in Julian a couple of years ago. I am trying to get to some smaller projects this month and get them out of the que.

Design Wall Monday

Hope you all are enjoying your Halloween. Ours is pretty quiet around here, we do not get many trick or treaters in out neighborhood.

Halloween Hoopla

Halloween Hoopla is almost complete. A couple of more seams to put the center together and then borders. Two of the borders are shown in the picture.

Along with finishing this quilt up I will be working on a couple of easy charity quilts and some gifty items that I will share at a later date. I also have a couple of fall projects I will try to get to this week.

Hope you have a fun Halloween and are ready to tackle some holiday projects.

Halloween Hoopla

October is flying by! This week, as I wait for fabric to arrive for O Say Can You See, I will be working on the Halloween Quilt. This pattern is from American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine October 2021. It is super easy and goes together pretty fast. I have nine blocks complete and 7 more to go, with some border units for the finish. This might be finished this week.

Enjoy your week!

Design Wall Monday

A finish will be happening this week! Sashing is almost complete for Oh Say Can You See, and I will be putting it all together this week. It is #1 on my list!

I will also continue to work on the halloween quilt. Have most of the units together and just need to put blocks together.

On the Longarm this week is Bountiful. I put the top together in 2020, and now I am getting it quilted. I had already quilted one for Sandi, so it will be done in a very similar manner. I will just change up a couple of the patterns.

All for me this week, what about you?

Sunday Stash Report

No quilt finishes this week, but projects in the works. Pincushions were finshed this last week. These were from a pincushion of the month that was gifted to me by Sandi over at Kwiltnkats. These were fun to make and a great way to practise some new embroidery stitches.

Another small project that was finished, were these halloween mug rugs for the grandkids. They were easy to put together and the fabrics glow in the dark.

No change to the stash for the week. Enjoy your Sunday,
