Design Wall Monday October 10, 2011

This week I will be working on my October UFO- Ruby Slippers. The pattern is from Miss Rosie's Quilt Company and really works with the fabrics that I have.
These were purchased a few years back during a trip to Huston and are Moda Fabrics. Below are the fat quarters that I will be using. The remaining fat quarters from this bundle will be used in for the backing- should help to use up quite a bit of the stash.

I will also be working on the squares below that have to be but in half and trimmed for the Jamestown Landing Quilt that I have been slowly working on in between other projects. There are 840 squares to be trimmed and I am using my new Bloc-Loc 2.5 inch ruler to square up. Once I got used to using it, I really like it and it makes the process much easier. Check out the link above to see a demo of this great little tool.

Both of these projects should keep me very busy this week. Have a great week!

See what everyone else is working on at Patchwork Times.

  1. Those fat quarters are really pretty. I think the back of your quilt is going to be as lovely as the front with all the different fabrics. Hope your new tool works really well with all those half square triangle blocks. You are brave to count them. :-)

  2. Thanks for the link on the Bloc-Loc tool. I recently squared up a bunch of very small HSTs and was frustrated that the seam made it so hard on those small ones. This may be just the thing I am looking for!

  4. You'll get a lot of use with your Bloc-Loc Tool with 840 HSTs of Jamestown Landing and future HST quilts that you love to do. Love that pile of blues and neutrals that will be come your Jamestown Landing. Sandi
