Sunday Stash Report

This week I have a couple of small finishes to report. The three Calendar Quilts are completed, April, May and June.
April
May
June

Next are the adds.
Sandi and I took my DD to pick out fabrics for a quilt I will be making for her and her new husband. We started with these fabrics from Memory Lane.

We then headed to Rosies, where she fell in love with the fabrics below. They will be used in a pattern called Between the Lines by Denyse Schmidt Quilts. We will be making it more controlled than scrappy, as the picture shows. The rejected fabric has found a place in my stash for a future project.

The next group of fabrics, were purchased for a future Buggy Barn class, called Believe. I love these Santa's!

Almost done with our Shopping at Rosies! I  found a few more neutrals and a red for a couple of different projects in the works.

All in all, I added about 26 yards to the stash this week. I am looking forward to a few more finishes to get the stash back in check!

Used this week: 6.0 yards.
Used YTD: 86.0 Yards
Purchased this week: 26.0 yards.
Purchased YTD: 73.0 yards.

Design Wall Monday

Here we are well into August and I am just getting started on my August UFO. This month it was Lucky #7- Lady of Lake Erie. This is from the June/July 2011 issue of Quiltmaker Magazine and is another pattern by Bonnie Hunter. I am making mine in reds/neutrals, and it will be for my Mom.

Below are all the reds cut out and ready to go. There are 50 different fabrics, all from my stash. I have about half of the neutrals cut out. So tonight I am off to cut a bit more, before I get sewing.

If you have time, head over to Kwiltnkats to see our annual San Diego Humane Society Quilt. I think this is the 10th year we have made a quilt for the Fur Ball auction. This one is super cute with dogs and doghouses!

Design Wall Monday

With my July UFO complete, I am going a little backwards and finishing up my UFO from June. These are 3 of the Calendar Quilts from Kim Schaefer. I have most of the applique cut and sewn down, ran out of steam a seam. Still need the umbrella for April, and one more Ant for June.
The plan is to complete by the end of July, along with the Woodland Wildlife quilt
that is still on the design wall!

April
May
June

These were the three that were my UFO for June. I still have 8 more of these mini quilts to complete and they will probably show up on my UFO list for next year!

Dear Jane Texas Cowgirl Round Up

The beginning of June found me in San Antonio, Texas, at the first annual Dear Jane Texas Cowgirl Round-up. It was held at the Newcombe Tennis Ranch, which turned out to be a beautiful place with lots of trees and stone buildings. Not only was this place beautiful, but our rooms were great and most of all the food was outstanding!!!

We had a great time seeing old friends and meeting new ones, while spending the week with Brenda Papadakis, working on our Dear Jane Blocks and Triangles. Brenda also did a trunk show for us and shared some of her wonderful quilts.

I had a very productive week and was able to complete 11 triangles and 18 blocks. I still have a lot more to complete!

Triangles

We also took a trip to the Quilthaus, for a special shopping night just for us!  What a great selection of fabrics, something for everyone. We all came away with some great purchases!

No trip to San Antonio is complete without a visit to The Alamo and the Riverwalk!

Me at the Alamo.

We all had such a great time at the first ever Dear Jane Cowgirl Retreat, that everyone signed up to come back next year! Thank you to Brenda and Brenda for organizing such a great retreat!

Sunshine Challenge Reveal.

June was the month we had our reveal for Sunshine Quilters challenge. We were all given 3 clues from the game "Clue", and were to design a quilt around that. It could be literal or abstract, and had to be bigger than 12 inches but smaller than 24 inches.

Here is my entry. I was given Mrs. Scarlett, Kitchen and Lead Pipe. To my great surprise I won 1st place!!

See all the Entries below. I think they were all pretty creative!

June has been an extremely busy month, which did not leave much time for Quilting! After starting out the month in San Antonio Texas at the first ever Dear Jane Texas Cowgirl retreat,(more on that in a later post) we had out of town guests for a little over a week and then my DD wedding just this past weekend. June has flown by!

Needless to say I am far behind in my UFO's and will have to catch up the stash report later this week. The May UFO, Woodland wildlife,is still on the Design Wall. along with the Calendar Quilt project below, which is my June UFO.

Up Next will be UFO #11, Valentine Squares. This is a pretty easy one, so hopefully July will be the month that I catch up.

Next post I will share my win from Sunshine Quilters! Have a great week!
