Design Wall Monday

 

This week I am getting started on Sugar Sand Beach, another UFO for 2022. 

Also in the works this week will be cutting 10.5" squares for a couple of backings that are needed. 

On the longarm is a Lonestar quilt for Sandi. This one is all hand pieced and has been a bit of a challenge with all the fullness.

Thursday is the start of Quiltcon, here in Pheonix. This is more of a modern quilt show and is usually in a different city each year.  I am hoping to attend either Thursday or Friday.

Sunday Stash Report

 A finish this week! 

Scrappy Blues (aka Narragansett Blues) is finsihed. This is my second UFO for 2022.

This quilt was started in 2022 as a leader/ender project. I had made all the 4 patches, and just needed to put it all together.

Autumn Love Block 3

Also prepped this week was Block #3 for Autumn Love. Have some hand stitching to keep me busy this week. No Purchases this week and finally in the black. More finishes to come!

Design Wall

 This week on my Design wall is still N. Blues (for short). I am still working on the center of the quilt and hope to complete this week. The eight rows on the right side still need to be sewn together. There are only two more rows after that.

Also ready for some hand stitching is the second block of Autumn Love. I am hoping to find some stitching time in evenings this week while we are watching TV.\

We are also off to the WM Golf Tournament on Thursday and Friday. It is a super fun event but way too crowded to go on Saturday and Sunday. It is nice to see events getting back to normal.

Sunday Stash Report

No finishes to report this week, just works in progress. Narragansett Blues is in rows on my design wall with much sewing ahead. This is about half of the center below.

Prepped this week was the first of the Autumn Love Blocks. I will be working on this as a block of the month, and this one is for January. Have February almost prepped for sewing down the applique.

Crow and Pumpkin Block

This week a couple of the Ladies from my Tuesday sewing group, decided to go to lunch and hit a few of the quilt shops in the south, Mad B's,  Quilters Oasis, and Mulqueen's. These were about an hour away from my house, and probably will not get to them very often. I found a few more white with blacks and a couple more fabrics for future project.

Design Wall Monday

 Last day of the month! On to February. This month I will be working on two of my UFO's. My #7 from APQS 2022 UFO Challenge, is Sugar Sand Beach. This will be made in african fabric that my daughter brought back when she was in Africa a few years ago.

Next up will be Narragansett Blues, another Bonnie Hunter pattern. All the units are made and remaining pieces cut out. All that is left is to sew it all together.

One small finish this week with the last of my Calendar Quilts. March is done and ready for quilting.

 A trip to Rusty Barn Quilt and Sewing Festival yielded some additions to the stash.

Also purchased was a backing for Rododendron trail. A nice pink and I will quilt with a light pink thread.

Design Wall Monday

 This week on the Design Wall will be the last of my calendar Quilts. This one is for March. This is the background partially sewn togther. Applique's are cut out and ready to fuse on. This will be a quick finish for the week.

I am also going to pull out the first block for Autumn Love by Lori Holt, and get started. I have al the pieces cut our and I will be working on it as my block of the month for this year.
