2012 UFO Challenge Sunday April 1, 2012

Hard to believe it is already April, and April Fools Day! Hope you were not fooled to much today!

Here is my completed March UFO Sugar Plum Stars- all quilted and bound. 

Below is a close-up of the quilting. The pattern is called Feather Meander by Jessica Schick.

Design Wall Monday March 19, 2012

Today is my Mom's Birthday, so first thing- a Big Happy Birthday to Mom!  Hope you have a great day and wish I could be there with you!! 

This week I will be working on the Chunky Churndash Quilt- this is another free Bonnie Hunter project and a group of quilters did this as a swap.  We each made 15 sets of two blocks to swap, which is half of the blocks needed to make this quilt. These easy 6 inch blocks were very addicting, and it was quick work to make up the other 30 needed to finish this quilt. They are set with hourglass blocks, which I will be working on this week.  Below are the blocks that I received from the Chunky Churdash Swappers.

I love how everyone did something just a little bit different. Hope to have the quilt top completed this week if I can get some sewing time in.

Sunday Stash Report March 18, 2012

This week I am happy to report two finishes both of them Mystery Quilts from 2011. Orca Bay a Bonnie Hunter design and Secret Garden from Quiltmaker Magazine. Nice to have them both complete and used all fabrics from my stash!

Sunday Stash Report March 11, 2012

This week finds me on vacation in Mammoth Lakes for some skiing, relaxing and some sewing. I always bring my sewing machine on vacation to catch up on my sewing and hopefully get a few things completed. 

Below is a my Quiltmaker mystery quilt started in 2011 which should be completed in the next few days. Started sewing the blocks together and will add a couple of borders. I also brought along my Bonnie Hunter Mystery"Orca Bay" which I also hope to complete. Will update you on my progress later this week.

As for my Stash Report, nothing added this week and nothing used. Hope to change that by the end of the week. Check out how everyone else did last week at Patchwork Times.

2012 UFO Challenge February 29, 2012

Happy Leap Day!!!

This month I was able to finish my February UFO, which was to quilt my Blue Trees Quilt. Below is the finished quilt and a couple of close-ups of the quilting. The quilting pattern is from Anne Bright and is called Goldilocks.

March is #8 which is the Sugar Plum Stars Quilt. Not sure yet how I will quilt this one- will have to sleep on it a couple of nights and see what pops up. I still have to circle back to the January UFO-Monsters and get that one quilted and bound.

Design Wall Monday February 20, 2012

This week I am back to working on Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt from December, Orca Bay.  I am finally making progress! My color choices were purple/green/gold and I used only fabrics from my stash.


All the string blocks done, the Ohio Stars complete and most of the other components ready to go. Just have to sew the triangle pieces to the purple strip triangles and then start sewing the rows together.  This one has been fun-but a lot of small pieces. Below are all the pieces ready to go.

Sunday Stash Report February 19, 2012

This week I was able to complete the baby quilt for William. This was a very simple pattern and went together in a couple of hours. I ended up adding a couple of borders as the quilt was a bit smaller than I wanted.  Purchased 2 yards for the two borders and binding. Now, just have to quilt it, bind it, and send it off. Hope to have that done by next weekend.

I am almost in the black!!! So here are the numbers for this week:
