Chilhowie Christmas

This week I am still working on Chilhowie and Modern Christmas. It seems I always have at least two projects going at once. Hope to get Chilhowie finished this week, only one more border to go.

Modern Christmas

Modern Christmas is coming along. Next round is a checkerboard border. It is looking good so far. This quilt is big, finishing at 96x96 and I have a set of custom quilting patterns for it. Looking forward to the quilting part. Enjoy your week!

Design Wall Monday

This week I am working on Modern Christmas above. There are paper pieced star units that will fill in the corners of this round. Also on the agenda is to work on Chilhowie. It will be layed out on the floor and the sashing units will be built this week. A lot on my plate, how about you?

 

Sunday Stash Report

 

My first finish for 2023 and the first UFO finish! This was a kit purchased on our trip to Alaska last summer and will be a gift for the couple that we stayed with. It will be on of the next up to quilt in my quilting que.

A small add to the stash was a yard of this green, needed for Modern Christmas, which is in progress. I had a small amout and was able to match it exactly with a trip to 35th Avenue fabrics. I considered myself very lucky to have found more of this fabric!

So here we have the first real report for 2023.

Design Wall

 

On my design wall this week are some placemats to match the table topper that was finished last week. I also have a couple of smaller projects that will be gifts for a couple of my granddaughters. Will share at a later date.

Next Up will be my #6 UFO Sugar Sand Beach. Not a super big quilt and should be fun to put together. It will go to my dayghter Kendyll when finished.

This week I will be working on my #3 UFO- The Alaska Tablerunner. This is an easier project, which will leave me time to work on clue 6 of the Chilhowie Mystery quilt. I also have Modern Christmas in the works. Here is where I am so far.

Stash Report

 

Happy New year All!

The first stash report of the new year on New Years Day.

Not much to report today. No adds to the stash so far and no finishes, so a short report so far.

We are spending New Years in Winslow AZ at the La Posada Hotel. This is our second year in a row staying here and we really enjoy this hotel. It is a refurbished railroad hotel designed by architect 

Mary Coulter in 1929, and it still has trains going by each day. There will be some stash enhancement to report next week as we will visit a couple of quilt shops in the area!
