 Hooray the first finish of the year!

Rododendron Trail is finished and awaiting quiting. The last of the borders were sewn on this week.

It is nice to have my first UFO finsihed, and as always I really like the way this has turned out. You can still get all the clues here until the end of January.

This quilt used up quite a bit of the stash, it is 84x99, so I am almost back to even for the year. That will probably change as Rusty Barn Quilt and Sewing Expo is this coming weekend and I plan a trip on Thursday.

Design Wall Monday

 More like Design floor this week. Rododendron Trail is a big quilt and did not fit on my Design Wall. I will be sewing the rows together to complete the center of the quilt and then hope to get to the flying geese borders and a finish for this week. Corners were in the process of being sewn together when I took this photo.

Lot's of sewing happening for me this week. I am also hoping to get to a longarm project, but this finish will come first. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Sunday Stash Report

 Half way through January already! No finishes this week, but progress on Rododendron Trail! Clue 7 was finished and the last clue/finish for the quilt was released on Friday. All the clues will be posted until the end of January, so you still have time to head over to Bonnie's Blog to save them.

I was able to get the border corners and setting triangles done on Friday/Saturday.

Rododendron Trail Finsih

Purchased this week was the aqua to use for the sashing strips. The one I had picked out was too bright, and I thought I needed someting a bit more muted to go with the light and airy feel of this quilt. So a trip to 35th Avenue was in store. I will use up some old floral fabrics for the backing.

Design Wall

 This week I will be working on Clue 7 of Rododendron Trail. I hope to be all caught up for the release of the next clue on Friday. Below are partial blocks, ready to sew.

Design Wall Monday

 This week on the Design wall is Rododendron Trail. I will be playing catch up with hourglass units to sew and press from clue 4, and then clue 5 and 6 to finish before clue 7 on Friday. I have my work cut out for me this week!

Sunday Stash Report

 Here we are January 2, 2022 and the first stash report for this year. My trip to Winslow over the New Year brought additions to the stash. We took a ride over to Holbrook and one of my favorite quilt shops, Painted Desert Quilts. Betty is the owner and has a super nice selection of fabric. Of cours DH was buying so we added more than was needed!

I picked up some nice neutrals, some blacks and reds for some of the UFO's I will be working on and a southwest stripe. Painted Desert also had a great selection of Grunge, so added a few more to my stash.
