Wonky Wishes

Yes, finally it is done! This is from Bonnie Hunter's pattern Wonky Wishes and uses up a lot of scraps. I pulled from my 2.5" squares and leftover strips for this one. Pretty simple, except the stripped pieced sashing takes a bit of time. I did make mine a bit smaller, it is more of a throw size than the twin size from the pattern. All fabrics were from my stash and the backing will also be a scrappy backing.

My other finish was this pillow. I had stitched the sashiko piece during out last road trip and decided to make it into a pillow.

These are two of the 3 tablerunners I am working on this week. These will be for our guilds boutique at the upcoming quilt show in March. I am hoping to make a few more, with a spring or southwest theme. Will have to see how far I get. I am also finishing up Wonky Wishes, another Bonnie Hunter pattern, and UFO #2 for the year. Lupine and Laughter

Finally a finish! Lupine and Laughter is done and will be in the quilting que. I still need to put together a backing, which will be out of the scrappy purples that are left. Binding will also be scrappy. All fabrics were from my stash, did not have to buy anything.👏👏👏 Even though these are not necessarily colors I would use, it did come out great. Maybe one of my Granddaughters will want this one??

This week I have been finishing up Lupine and Laughter and working on some QOV blocks. Above are some of my finished blocks. 

This banner was quilted and finished this week. It will be mailed off to my DD soon.

I have just a bit more of Lupine and Laugher to complete. It should show up in my stast report on Sunday.

A small finish this weel- Patriot Dreams Banner. Lupine and Laughter is still in the works, but heading towards a finish this week! Pictures below are from my class at Road, When Perfect isnt the Point. I really enjoyed this class and Jemima is a great teacher. Love some of her other patterns too. You can find them here.

The other class was a Tiny Piecing class. The blocks were amazing and I learned alot about how to paper piece these tiny blocks. Giuseppe was also a fun teacher, and very entertaining. His sample quilt is below and is amazing. I ended up using the scraps from my first class for this class.

One of my favorite exhibits was the Anniversary of Route 66 exhibit. Below are just a few of the quilts on display.

I am back to working on the BH Mystery quilt, Lupin and Laughter. All laid out on my floor and ready to sew blocks and rows together.

Best of Show

Back from Road! Sandi and I had a great time. The quilts did not disapoint and the shopping was fun, even though some of our favorites were not in attendance. Here are a few of the award winners.

My second Block for Lupine and Laughter is in the works this week, along with sewing the border pieces. Hope I can get that far.

Next week, Sandi and I will be off to Road To California Quilt Show.  The quilt above is from one of the classes we will be taking, " When perfect isn't the point". I will be working on cutting out all the pieces for this one.  We are also taking a Tiny Piecing class, which I am looking forward to . We will also participate in Preview Night and have plenty of time for shopping. Looking forward to this trip.

The Big Revel for Bonnie Hunter's Lupine and Laughter happened on Friday! Love this quilt, it is so pretty! There is still time to get all the clues before it is taken down from her site. 

My first blocks are finished and I am cutting out pieces to finish the second block before putting it all together. No finishes to report and not adds to the Stash this week.

This week I will be working on the last of the door banners for my DD. All caught up with Bonnie Hunter Mystery, Lupine Laughter, just waiting for the next clue to drop on Friday.

Clue 7.

Clue 7 of the BH Mystery Quilt, was cut out yesterday and all sewn today while watching some football. It feels good to be all caught up and ready for Friday's Clue. Hopefully we will be putting all the units together and have a quilt top soon. It will be my first finish for 2026.

My Stash Report will continue for 2026 and I hope to have used a bit more that the 56 yards for 2025. I will need to go on a fabric diet this year, but with R2CA coming up in a few weeks, it is going to be a hard diet to stick to.
