Stash Report

Brown's Mountain
DH and I have been out and about exploring our new home here in Scottsdale. There are a lot of  great hiking trails near by and we headed to Brown's Mountain yesterday morning. We ended up walking about 5 miles and made it almost to the top of the mountain. We are enjoying the access to many different activities here in AZ.

No finishes to report this week, but getting ready to start on a couple of small projects. A small add to the stash from Old World Quilt Shop in Cave Creek and is the closest shop to my new home. This shop specializes in wool applique, but also has a nice selection of reproduction and traditional fabrics. I purchased the fabrics below for my Ella Marie Deacon Quilt. I am trying to use mostly fabrics from my stash, but was a little short in greens and golds.

Below are my first four blocks for this quilt. The second four were released this week and I will be getting those done quickly so I can move on to another project.

These blocks finish at 9" which is a nice size to work with. The next batch of blocks include an applique block and other colors will be added in, blue, pink, black. The quilt is predominately red, green and gold.

Updated numbers for the week:

Used this week:  0 yards.
Used YTD:  114.5 yards.
Purchased this week:  1.5 yards
Purchased YTD: 67.5 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 47.0 yards.

  1. Not bad adding in when you know you'll be counting them used in a short time. Like the fabrics...you needing green! Now I find that quite hard to believe. Sandi
