Sunshine Challenge Reveal.

June was the month we had our reveal for Sunshine Quilters challenge. We were all given 3 clues from the game "Clue", and were to design a quilt around that. It could be literal or abstract, and had to be bigger than 12 inches but smaller than 24 inches.

Here is my entry. I was given Mrs. Scarlett, Kitchen and Lead Pipe. To my great surprise I won 1st place!!

See all the Entries below. I think they were all pretty creative!

Design Wall

June has been an extremely busy month, which did not leave much time for Quilting! After starting out the month in San Antonio Texas at the first ever Dear Jane Texas Cowgirl retreat,(more on that in a later post) we had out of town guests for a little over a week and then my DD wedding just this past weekend. June has flown by!

Needless to say I am far behind in my UFO's and will have to catch up the stash report later this week. The May UFO, Woodland wildlife,is still on the Design Wall. along with the Calendar Quilt project below, which is my June UFO.

Up Next will be UFO #11, Valentine Squares. This is a pretty easy one, so hopefully July will be the month that I catch up.

Next post I will share my win from Sunshine Quilters! Have a great week!

Design Wall Monday

This week I am on a much need vacation and a getaway to San Antonio Texas for the first annual  Dear Jane Texas Cowgirl Round up with Brenda Papadakis! Headed off in the morning for 5 days of working on those 4.5 inch blocks and some triangles too. Looking forward to meeting up with fellow Janiacs for food, fun, and lots of sewing!

I will be working on the Red White and Blue Dear Jane, started two years ago. Yes, this quilt takes a bit of work, but I really enjoy the challenge of the paper pieced blocks, and working on my applique skills.  Below are the latest finished blocks for this quilt. So far about 50 completed.

Also on the Design Wall this week is Woodland Wildlife. All the pieces are cut and placed, just need some time to sew them all down. Won't be happening this week, but will get to this as soon as I return.

Also, on the Design Wall is the almost completed challenge for Sunshine Quilters, based on the game Clue. I just have to add one more element, then quilt and bind. It is small so should go quickly. Can't show until the reveal at meeting on June 9th. Hope to finish it up as soon as I return from Texas. It has been a busy couple of weeks on My Design Wall.

Hope you are getting a lot accomplished also! Check out more ideas and inspirations

Stash Repot

Thanks to Sandi over at Kwiltnkats, I have some usage to report. Sandi did a class for
Paradise Sewing quilt shop on a quilt carry bag. You can see it on her site here. I provided her with strips and I got a bag and some stash usage. Pretty good trade on my end!

Design Wall

While awaiting the release of the May UFO from 52 Quilts, I am working on the quilt below. This is the Night and Day Pattern by Eleanor Burns at Quilt in a Day. It looks complicated, but the blocks actually went together very quickly. Blocks are complete, just need to sew the rows and then add three borders.

Night and Day
Tomorrow is a day off, so hope to get this one complete and add to my Stash Report on Sunday!

2015 UFO Challenge

Hooray my April UFO is complete and just in time for the Parade over at 52 Quilts!

Sisters Nine Patch was started a couple of years ago, when I was looking for a pattern to use up all the red scraps that I had. This is another of Bonnie Hunter's patterns from her earlier book, "Adventures with Leaders and Enders" It is also very large, finishing at 94x94 and has 169 Nine Patch Blocks.

Nice to have this one complete. Now off to see what else I can finish while awaiting the
May UFO release. Have a great rest of the week!
