Sunday Stash Report

This week I have a finish!
Talkin Turkey is finally completed. This was also my UFO from April.

I was also able to complete the last of my applique blocks from Temecula Quilt Company Block of the month. Not sure yet how I will set them, thinking something simple. Any ideas are welcome!

My only purchase this week was from Sunshine Quilt Guild's Auction. I bid on this charm pack, layer cake, ruler and pattern called Five and Dime. Lucky me- I won!  The pattern is super simple and will be coming with me to our retreat this week in Lakeside.

So the numbers for this week are not so bad!
Used this week: 16 yards.
Used Year to date: 77.0 yards
Purchased this week: 5.0 yards.
Purchased Year to date: 65.0.0 yards.
Net Fabric Used in 2014: 12 yards.

Hope this week finds you using up your stash! See all the other reports at Patchwork Times.

Sunday Stash Report

Today's Stash report comes from beautiful Jackson Wyoming. Home of the Tetons. DH and I started our trip on Friday and stopped over in St George, Utah on our way here to Jackson. We are then headed for Yellowstone for the week. Today we took a river float trip down the Snake River- the scenery was beautiful!

In St George we visited the Superior Tread Headquarters and Quilt shop. Wow it is a must see if you are in the area. The thread selection is amazing and of course I picked up a few of my favorite King Tut thread. The fabric store has over 11,000 bolts of fabric and the biggest selection of batiks that I have ever seen in one place. I actually didn't buy too much fabric, just a few neutrals that were on sale and a couple of fat quarters for another up coming project. Unfortunately no finishes to report this week to off set!

Design Wall Monday

This week I am working on my UFO for the month #9 Scrappy trip around the world. This was started in a workshop with Bonnie Hunter about two years ago. It is going to become our car quilt. I have 9 blocks completed and will make 21 more. After this is completed, I will be back to finishing Talkin Turkey.

I also completed this paper pieced block for our Block of the Month at Sunshine Quilt Guild. It was completed just in time as our meeting will be tomorrow night. Hope I win these blocks!

Sunday Stash Report

Happy Mothers Day to All!

Our road trip to Asilomar last week, brought a couple of stops in a few Quilt shops along the way. So this week I only have additions, no finishes but coming close with Talkin Turkey.

The first stop was Cotton and Chocolate Quilt Company in Thousand Oaks. This shop has a wide variety of fabrics and DH picked out these Kaffe Fassett fabrics that he loved.

.
Our next stop was in Pismo Beach at Quilt'n Cousins. Here I picked up the Button Fabric. The rest of the sewing fabrics were purchased at Back Porch Fabrics in Pacific Grove. These will be used in a future Bonnie Hunter project.

These Fabrics were picked up at Asilomar from The Cotton Patch. It is located in Lafayette CA, but is on campus for the Empty Spools Seminars. These will also be used in a Bonnie Hunter project called Lazy Sunday from her new book.

So my adds for the week ended up to be 20.25 yards and has now put me in the red. Time to get busy and use it up! Hope you had a better week than I did using up the stash. Check out how everyone else is doing at Patchwork Times.

Update Asilomar

It has been a great week so far! The weather has been beautiful!

View from the Boardwalk along the beach.

Here are my blocks so far this week. I am the class angel, so have not made too many.

Red/White/Blue Blocks.

Here are Joanne's blocks. Joanne is from Whitehorse, Yukon and has been in my class the last couple of years. She is making hers in the original colors and has done a great job matching all the fabrics from the original Dear Jane.

Brenda is one of my favorite teacher's and has gone through, reverse applique, needle turn applique, back basting, paper piecing and today we are hand piecing.  As Brenda says, you should always have as many tricks in your quilting bag as possible!

Time to get busy and finish a few more blocks!

Design Wall Monday.

Empty Spools Seminar-Asilomar California

This week I am so lucky to be back in Asilomar at the Empty Spools Seminar. This is such a beautiful place, located on the Monterey Peninsula and this week the weather is supposed to be great!

I am, once again, taking Dear Jane with Brenda Papadadkis. So on the design wall this week will be all my Dear Jane blocks that I will hopefully be completing. Below are the blocks that I finished last year.

Check back later this week to see my progress and don't forget to check out all the other design walls at Patchwork Times.
