Stash Report

Lady of Lake Erie
A finish to report this week! Lady of Lake Erie in Reds is finally finished. This quilt finished at 94x94 and will be quilted soon as a gift for my Mom.

Also completed this week was my second Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses. This will be an on going project until I have enough blocks to make a quilt, or until I get tired of hand piecing them!

Added to the stash were fabrics to make the Union Blues Quilt. You can see them over at Sandi's Blog. This will hopefully be one of the quilts we work on together in 2016.

Here are the current numbers for the year:

Used this week: 21 yards.
Used YTD: 107 Yards
Purchased this week: 31.0 yards.
Purchased YTD: 125.0 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: -18 yards.

Design Wall

This week, and for the month, I have been working on my Lady of Lake Erie project. This is my UFO from August, have not even started September, except for the pieces that Sandi cut for me!

Here is Bonnie Hunter's Version in Blues.

I have about another 20 blocks to complete and then will be putting borders together. I am making it queen size for my mom, so there are 100 of these blocks. They are going together pretty fast, so hope to complete them today, and get the rest of quilt finished by end of the week.

Hope your September was more productive than mine! Check out more inspiring projects at Patchwork Times.

Sunday Stash Report

After the San Diego Quilt Show this week, the stash is going in the wrong direction.  The Show was great, with over 300 quilts on display and many vendors to shop. Below are three of my quilts that were in the show.

Crab Apples

Mexican Stars

Pfeffernuese

I also took a class during the show, Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses with Tina Rainer. This was a hand piecing class, no sewing machine! We learned how to prep the hex pieces and how to fussy cut to get the cross design. I did not think I would like all the hand sewing, but in the end I really enjoyed it. This will be a project I will take along in the car, when DH and I go on our road trips

Below are my adds from the Quilt Show. Fabrics for the Union Blues Quilt and for a quilt called Postage Due that I could not pass up.

So this is where I am for the year- not in the black anymore!

Used this week: 0 yards.
Used YTD: 86.0 Yards
Purchased this week: 10.0 yards.
Purchased YTD: 94.0 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: -7.0 yards.

Hope your numbers are better than mine! Check out more reports at Patchwork Times.

No Finishes this week, but have added a little more to the stash. These fabrics are part of a block of the month called Prairie Gathering designed by Pam Buda. The Country Loft in La Mesa is hosting this block of the month, and so far I have collected 8 months. This will be a project that Sandi and I will start on sometime next year.

Here are the current numbers:

Used this week: 0 yards.
Used YTD: 86.0 Yards
Purchased this week: 11.0 yards.
Purchased YTD: 84.0 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 2 yards.

Barely in the Black! Hope you are doing better than I am in using your stash.

Sunday Stash Report

This week I have a couple of small finishes to report. The three Calendar Quilts are completed, April, May and June.
April
May
June

Next are the adds.
Sandi and I took my DD to pick out fabrics for a quilt I will be making for her and her new husband. We started with these fabrics from Memory Lane.

We then headed to Rosies, where she fell in love with the fabrics below. They will be used in a pattern called Between the Lines by Denyse Schmidt Quilts. We will be making it more controlled than scrappy, as the picture shows. The rejected fabric has found a place in my stash for a future project.

Between the Lines

The next group of fabrics, were purchased for a future Buggy Barn class, called Believe. I love these Santa's!

Almost done with our Shopping at Rosies! I  found a few more neutrals and a red for a couple of different projects in the works.

All in all, I added about 26 yards to the stash this week. I am looking forward to a few more finishes to get the stash back in check!

Used this week: 6.0 yards.
Used YTD: 86.0 Yards
Purchased this week: 26.0 yards.
Purchased YTD: 73.0 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 13 yards.

Design Wall Monday

Here we are well into August and I am just getting started on my August UFO. This month it was Lucky #7- Lady of Lake Erie. This is from the June/July 2011 issue of Quiltmaker Magazine and is another pattern by Bonnie Hunter. I am making mine in reds/neutrals, and it will be for my Mom.

Below are all the reds cut out and ready to go. There are 50 different fabrics, all from my stash. I have about half of the neutrals cut out. So tonight I am off to cut a bit more, before I get sewing.

If you have time, head over to Kwiltnkats to see our annual San Diego Humane Society Quilt. I think this is the 10th year we have made a quilt for the Fur Ball auction. This one is super cute with dogs and doghouses!
