Design Wall

Hope your Thanksgiving is filled with family, friends, fun and food!

In between working on the Bonnie Hunter Mystery, I will be trying to get another Bonnie Hunter Quilt finished. This one is called Wonky Wishes and I just need to make a few more string pieced sashes and then sew the top together. I am almost there!

Clue 1 is cut out and ready for sewing. I was going to use my Accquilt to cut these out, but instead I had enough strips in my stash to cut them using Bonnies Ruler. Tomorrow will be the release of clue 2 and there is still plenty of time to join in, or at least save all the clues to make at a later date. You can get them here.

Have a wonderful day!

Stash Report

It has been a super busy couple of weeks for us. We just returned from a 5,000 mile road trip that took us through Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri and into Tennesee and South Carolina where we visited some friends that we knew in San Diego.

One of our stops was the International Quilt Museum in Lincoln Nebraska. This is a must stop if you are ever in the area. It is a beautiful museum and they have an extensive collection of all sorts of quilts.
Here are some of my favorites from the different exhibits.

A trip back to that part of the country is not complete without a stop at Hancocks of Paducah!

I was only given about an hour to shop as we had to get back on the road.
I found a couple of cheddars for a future project, a nice neutral and a backing for my JN quilt.

So here is the damage to the stash:

Used this week: 0 yards.
Used YTD: 112 yards.
Purchased this week: 10 yards.
Purchased YTD: 62 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 50 yards.

Enjoy your week!

Stash Report

Back from my Quilting Retreat up in Pinetop AZ, where we had a great time, sewing, socializing and of course eating. Our hostess, Francis, has a beautiful retreat house and cooked all our meals for us. What a treat. Above is the patio and right behind is our sewing room, which was well lighted and equipped with everything needed to get our projects done. And yes I was able to get my Judy Niemeyer quilt done!

LOVE how it turned out. I was also able to complete a couple of smaller projects that will be gifted, so will share at a later date.

We also were able to take a couple of walks around the lake, in between some rain storms. It was great to get up into the mountains and out of the heat in the Valley.

Yes, we did get some shopping at some of the local quilt stores in the arean. I came home with these great plaid blenders to use in some future projects.

Used this week: 25 yards.
Used YTD: 112 yards.
Purchased this week: 3.5 yards.
Purchased YTD: 52 yards.

Not much sewing getting done for me, but thought I would share from our Chapter Meeting yesterday. Heidi Pridemore, above, shared a presentation on Sashiko Quilting and gave a demo on how to do. It was super informative and yes, I bought a simple Sashiko kit to do while I am on the road later this month. Some of the show and tell this month below.

Eva and a charity quilt.

Stacy and her latest Gudrun Erla pattern.

Joyce with a beautiful embroidered quilt.

Margarete with a flower garden quilt.

I am off to a quilt retreat starting tomorrow, so hope to have a finish to share soon!
