Last Clue for the Aloha Mystery is done. Tomorrow will be the big reveal and sewing units together. All my units are below. I am actually keeping up with this one!

Here are the next units in the JN Quilt. Yes, I am working on about 5 projects at the same time. Never a dull moment in my sewing room!

Happy last day of August-where has the Summer gone!

Rusty Barn did not disappoint and I came home with way to much new stuff. Above is a fat quarter bundle called Sew Obsessed-loved all of these!

Another sewing themed charm pack called Threads.

A cute halloween print and the white has little bees on it.

A small kit to make this Lucky Table runner.

More Fabrics and a panel from Sew Obsessed. I will be making a version of this Jacket but it will be with a hoody. Loved the version I saw at the show below. I have never made a jacket before, so this will be a new challenge.

Design Wall

Here is clue 3 done for the Aloha Quilt. Next clue is due out tomorrow.  

This week my main project will be working on Sandi's Millie's Dresses Quilt. 

I was also able to finish all eight of the diamond units for the JN quilt.

Slowly getting some projects nearer to completion.

We woke up this morning to these beautiful blooming sages. It happens fast here in the desert, especially if we get a little rain. More rain is predicted for this week.⛈

This week I am busy at quilting Sandi's Millie's Dresses quilt. This one is all custome and the patterns are so fun. Each dress has a different quilting pattern and gives a lot of texture to t he quilt. I will be hard at work on this one all week. Hope to have finished and off to Sandi by the end of the week.

No finishes this week and no adds to the Stash, but Rust Barn Quilt and Craft show starts on Thursday so there will most likely be some adding this week!

Design Wall

This week on my design wall will be working on Clue 3 of the Aloha mystery quilt.

Also in the works is the Judy Niemeyer quilt. Above is the first of 8 sections that will be made. A little challenging lining up all the pieces. I will be working on this quilt on Tuesday's at my sewing group. It will be a long term quilt in progress.

Yes, finally a finish! Sand Castles top is done and I am sewing together the backing. I really love how this turned out. It will go into my quilting que and hope to get to it after a few others on my list.

On the longarm this week is one of two charity quilts for Sandi. Love this one, it is so happy and bright.

Design Wall

This week I have two projects in the works. Above is the Aloha Mystery, first clue was from last week and I was able to get it done yesterday during our sew-in. This weeks clue is all cut out and ready to sew. I am using fabrics from my stash and will donate this one to charity. I am going to try to keep up with the clues each week. Also under the sewing machine is Sand Castles, and I am hoping to have that all together this week.

Back from a great week in Sacramento, where we had a wonderful time with family. Now I am ready to get back to the sewing room. Finished were the placemats above. Four sets of 6, and ready for all the binding below. This week will be working on binding as I watch my favorite shows in the evening.

The last of the Dear Hannah Applique Blocks are prepped. These will be taken on an upcoming trip to Sacramento to visit family. Hope to get them done and then start on the last 5 pieced blocks.

This will be a short week for me, not much sewing getting done, we have out of town guests on Wednesday, and then I leave for Sacramento on Friday for a week.

Sand Castle is coming together. Above are just a few of the blocks. I was short one block, UGH! So I am putting that together this week, and will lay out all the blocks on the floor (too big for desigh wall). Hope to get all the rows sewn together and maybe a finish on the horizon. These fabrics are fom Etsy. I had to purchase a little more to go with the seasonal placemat panels as I needed binding for them. The place mats will be quilted up quickly on the longarm later this week and binding will start.

I will be working on finishing up the string pieced blocks for Bonnie Hunter's SandCastle quilt. There are over 120 of these string pieced triangles. Next up sewing on the sashing strips and then finall putting blocks together.

More blocks are being prepped for Dear Hannah. Hope to get them finished by next week.

Back from our Colorado Trip. We had a wonderful time in Rocky Mountain and Arches National Parks. Rocky Mountain was so beautiful and we hope to return again soon. You can check out all my pictures here. We were able to visit two quilt shops, one in Cortez, Colorado called Cortez Quilt Company and one in Moab, Utah called Never Enough Stitches. LOVED Cortez Quilt Company- so many great fabrics and projects. We purchased some placemat panels and backings, and some other suprises. And I signed up for an online mystery quilt that starts in August.

The fabrics above were from Never Enough Stitches. This shop had a good selection of fabrics and many hand made gift items. Fun place to visit.

So, nothing finished, except the blocks that were prepped for my Dear Hannah.

Design Wall

A new Judy Niemeyer quilt was started this week. I will be working on this during my Tuesday sewing group. It was all cut out and ready to start last year. So I pulled it out and have started on some of the paper piecing. My colors are a bit different from the photo.

Five more blocks prepped this week. These will come with me when we head out on our next trip. I only have 10 more blocks to go!

Last Day of June and a finish. Ayla's I spy quilt will be next up to quilt and bind. I love this pattern from Country Faces and have now made 5 of them!

Design Wall

On the design wall this week is the I spy quilt. blocks are done and sashing cut. Will be working on sewing into rows and hopefully adding borders for a finish this week.

After almost finishing Sandi's embroidered quilt, (I ran out of the blue thread for the sashing) I took that one off the Longarm and am working on this cute Cats in Pajamas quilt, also for Sandi. This will go a lot quicker than the embroidered one!

Anothere 3-yard quilt was finished at my sewing group this week. These quilt patterns are becoming addictive! They are super easy and can be completed in a couple of hours. I just purchased another 3-yard quilt book on Patriotic Quilts. These may become some QOV quilts in the future.

More paper-pieced blocks were completd this week. Only have a few more to go!

Purchased this week was a 3 yard piece for backing a charity quilt that was finished awhile ago. This was purchased at Mulqueens and was even on sale! I have been making and quilting a lot of charity projects this year.

Design Wall

On the design wall are more blocks being prepped for Dear Hannah. I am also working on the last of the paper pieced blocks and will be prepping more applique blocks. I have 23 more blocks to finish and the center blocks will be done! Not sure yet if I will do the triangle blocks....

Also in the works this week will be sewing more of the I-spy quilt blocks, along with working on another 3-yard quilt at my sewing group on Tuesday. 

On my Longarm this week, is another embroidered quilt for Sandi. This one is a beauty! As always, a lot going on in my sewing room!

Kitten Love was quilted and bound and sent off to my Granddaughter. It was supposed to be for her birthday in February, but did not get it done in time.

No finishes this week, but I did finally get the fabric that I needed for Ayla's I-spy quilt. These were from Hancocks of Pudach. I was not sure which black and white I wanted to use, so bought them both. I am leaning towards the top print.

Design Wall

 

Now that I am home, more prepping of applique blocks are getting finished. I am also working on all the hand sewing of these blocks, as I did not get much done on our trip. We were too busy, and too tired by the end of the day.

Also in the works this week is the I spy quilt. All the blocks are cut out and sewing is happening. I had to order one fabric, so waiting on that one to arrive. Yes, it will be an addition to the stash, but I needed just the right black on white for this quilt.

Crater Lake

Back from our road trip to Northern CA and Oregon, where we visited 3 national Parks, drove almost  3000 miles and had our reservations at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon cancelled on us, due to a power outage. It was a fun, but busy trip and we saw a lot of beautiful scenery.

Nothing finished, but I did get more of the paper pieced blocks for Dear Hannah done. I am now about 3/4 of the way finished with the 110 blocks for this quilt. Still have more applique blocks to prep.
