Another finish this week! This autumn quilt is an hour glass pattern that I modified from Missouri Star Quilts Block Magazine. I pieced together the leftover's for backing, so more used from the stash! It is now on the Longarm and ready to quilt.

Design Wall

 

Fall is in the Air! Here is what I am working on this week. Simple hourglass blocks in autumn colors. I have had these fabrics for quite awhile and figured it was time to do something with them. This should be a finish this week!

Also started this week is my September UFO, called Aboretum. Super fun blocks to put together as you are just free form cutting and sewing in the strips. The quilt takes 99 blocks and are all different prints of Kaffe fabrics. I bought this as a kit last year at Rusty Barn quilt and craft show.

Sunday Stash Repot

A finiah this week! This will be a donation to Arizona Quilts for kids, once it is quilted.

One more block completed for the Sampler Quilt. All the sections are ready to be assembled. This will be put aside for awhile, until I get a photo from Mary.

Also completed last week was block 7 of Vintage Valentine. I will be prepping block 8 this coming week.

Yes, the Sewing and Craft expo was a winner. I came home with a few additions to the stash along with a fun embroidery pattern. More projects to keep me busy!

Design Wall Monday

August is flying by!This week I will be working on the the quilt above, another charity quilt with leftovers from the quilt for my grand niece. I also have a couple more of the blocks from the sampler to finish up. Mary from our  guild made the sampler quilt back in 2004 and I hope to get a picture of it from her to help me put it all together. It will be a donation when completed.

One more section complete for sampler quilt.

This week is also the Sewing and Craft festival at Westworld. Looking forward to checking out all the new stuff and adding to the stash!

Sunday Stash Report

 

It has been a busy couple of weeks, with not much sewing getting done. DH and I were on a road trip to Washington State the past couple of weeks and have been recovering since we got back last week. You can check out some of my pictures from our adventure here on Facebook.

The block above was completed this last week after I returned home. Hope to get the rest of them done this coming week, and this quilt put together sometime in the future. I was also able to finish quiling a couple of charity quilts and binding was put on. I will ask the ladies in my tuesday group to sew the binding down for me.

Nothing added to the stash, and we did not have the time or opportunity to visit any quilt shops on this trip. No change in the stash numbers.

This week I will continue to work on the basket of scraps. Making progress, but still a ways to go. I hope to have this basket empty by the end of the week!

Tomorrow is our Sew in with Sunrise Stitchers. We will be meeting from 9-9 to work on charity projects. I have blocks cut out and ready to sew, along with the project above that was given to me that has 4 more blocks to make. This was a BOM from 2004 and I am missing a couple of blocks and dont know what it is supposed to look like when done. So I will be winging it on this one! When finished this will be donated to charity.

Much to keep me busy this week. How about you?

Sunday Stash Report

Two finishes this week! First up is the Courthouse step charity quilt. I headed over to Hobby Lobby on Saturday and picked up the border fabric and a solid blue for inner border and binding during their 40% off sale. The leftover fabric was pieced together for the backing. Hope to get this one quilted soon.

Next finish was the quilt above using big prints and a simple setting. Will need to find a backing for this one. 

Added to the stash this week were the fabrics from Hobby Lobby. Still looking pretty good for the year and nice to have 2 finishes for the first week in August.
