Design Wall Monday

As promised yesterday, below is another teaser of the quilt I am making for Sunshine Quilt Guild Challenge. The finished quilt will be posted after May 10th. Here is one of the borders that goes around the center.

The next border is a checkerboard, pieces are below. Hope to have this finished and on the longarm later this week.

That's it for this week!  See more design walls at Patchwork Times.

Sunday Stash Report

I missed posting last week, so catching up today. No finishes yet, but very close with my Challenge Quilt for Sunshine Quilt Guild. This is due the first part of May, and I am trying to get it finished, quilted and bound before May 10th. The theme is Patriotic and I am making a quilt that I have wanted to do for a long time. I am using all fabrics from my stash, except for the backing. Check out my Design Wall tomorrow for another little teaser. I won't be able to reveal the quilt to you until after May 10th, so check back then to see my finish.

I do have a couple of adds to the stash this week. The red fabric is for the backing for the Challenge quilt, and I picked up a few more neutrals for the stash. You can never have enough neutrals for all those great scrappy quilts that I tend to make.

These fabrics were purchased at Rosie's, here in San Diego. I trip to this shop is always trouble, as I end up purchasing more than I need!

Here are the new numbers for the week! Still in the black, with more finishes on the horizon.

Used this week: 0 yards.
Used YTD: 70 yards.
Purchased this week: 8 yards.
Purchased YTD: 45 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 25 yards.

Have a great week, and check back tomorrow to see what is on the Design Wall.

Design Wall Monday

This week I am working on a Quilt for our challenge for Sunshine Guild. It is due in May and I was not sure if I would participate or not, but the theme is Patriotic, and there is a quilt I have been wanting to make, so I decided to go for it.

It will be made entirely from fabrics from my stash, except maybe the backing. I won't be able to reveal until after our meeting in May, but above is one of four start blocks that will be included.

Also in this quilt are 5 of these small pinwheel blocks that finish at 2 inches. Aren't they cute? They were made from the waste triangles from the 60 flying geese blocks that also go in this quilt.

Still working on the quilt for my DD, so will also finish cutting the strips and
foundations for the blocks. Will be a busy week for me!

Sunday Stash Report

I have finally finished Allietare!
I really love the way this turned out and it is destined to go on my bed. After quilting it will have scalloped borders. I have only done this on a couple of quilts and it was awhile ago, so I am looking forward to this part of finishing this quilt.

This is a large quilt, so a little hard to photograph. It finishes at 96x81. It also used up 25 yards of fabric-all from my stash. The numbers for the year are getting better!

Used this week: 25 yards.
Used YTD: 70 yards.
Purchased this week: 0 yards.
Purchased YTD: 37.25 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 32.75 yards.

Design Wall

Just a little late this week posting my Design Wall. I am busily cutting out all the strips for a
Denyse Schmidt quilt for my daughter and husband. This one is called Between the Lines.
Denyse has a lot of great modern patterns, check them out when you have a chance.

Between the Lines.

I am using the fabrics below, some great Cotton and Steel designs that my daughter picked out. My version will be a bit more controlled with each fabric as one of the strips. Once all the cutting is done, it should go together fast.

Sunday Stash Report

Nothing added this week and nothing used. A sort of finish below with Blocks from Freedom Rings BOM. So far I have been able to keep up with the 3 BOM that I am working on this year.

Freedom Rings Month 3

Hope you are making better progress than I am with your Stash Report, but I think a finish is on the horizon this week! Check out more reports at

Used this week: 0 yards.
Used YTD: 45 yards.
Purchased this week: 0 yards.
Purchased YTD: 37.25 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 9.75 yards.

Have a great week and check back tomorrow to see what is on my Design Wall for the week. My UFO for April is #5, Buggy Barn's Believe pattern. But I will probably switch this one up as I want to get going on the Wedding Quilt for my DD. Hope to have it finished in time for the 1st Anniversary in June!
