Design Wall Monday

As I wait for the next UFO to be announced on Feb 1 at Patchwork Times, I am finishing up the Tarted up Pineapple table runner from my class at Road. I have all the blocks done and ready to sew together. I may also add a border or two, but not sure yet how I will finish. This was a fun and easy way to make pineapple blocks, without the hassle of papers.

I also had some time to work on another Lucy Boston Block.

Stash Report

We are back from Mammoth, where it was a busy week of sewing and getting in some skiing. More sewing than skiing, as DH and I both came down with colds. I finished both En Provence and my Buggy Barn Believe quilt, which is a carryover from 2016.

Design Wall Monday

We are a little snowbound today, waiting for the snowplows to get the roads cleared here in Mammoth Lakes. On the design floor here in the condo is En Provence. I will be putting it together this week, but had to do a little un-sewing on the missing block below, where the pieces were turned the wrong way.  I am sure that has never happened to any of you. 😊

Looking forward to getting this quilt complete this week. See more projects in the works at Patchwork Times. Happy Sewing!

Road To California Quilt Show

Sandi and I had a great time a Road2Ca Quilt show last week. We drove up on Tuesday night for our class on Wednesday with Janna Thomas from Bloc Loc. The class used her pineapple ruler and was an easy paper free way to get accurate blocks completed. I will be making a table runner from my completed blocks.

Janna and I with my blocks.
There were many outstanding quilts at the show. Below are a few of my favorites.

"Cardinal Points" Gail Stepanek

"Five turns of the Wheel" Sandra F. Peterson

"Why Not?" Angela Petrocelli

"The Twisted Sister" Margaret Solomon Gunn

"Pinball Wizard" Marilyn Badger

"Proud Peacock" Antonia Hering
We always look forward to the vendors and were not disappointed. There were two big tents filled along with the hall where all the quilts were displayed. I picked up a couple of items, some purple fabrics for a future Bonnie Hunter project. A baseball quilt pattern and some panels, for a future quilt for a new nephew, Jackson, who will be arriving sometime in  March.

I also purchased another Bloc Loc ruler to use for Janna's California Snowflake pattern, which I realized I had purchased previously in one of Janna's books.

As always, Sandi and I had a great time catching up during this annual event, and will look forward to next year.

We have not seen this much snow here in many years.

Stash Report

No finishes yet, but getting close on En Provence.  A couple of additions for a class I will be taking this week at Road to California Quilt Show. It is one of my UFO called "A Tarted up Pineapple" The class is with Janna Thomas from Bloc Loc Rulers. These rulers have become favorites of mine. I will be making mine in pinks, I was thinking valentines. I am planning on a table runner size.

Design Wall Monday

En Provence

The first Design Wall of 2017 finds me working on the Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt-En Provence. The Big Revel was yesterday and you can see it here. I had thought it would end up looking very purple with all the dark purple's that were used, but was pleasantly surprised that it did not. I really like how it turned out.

Here are all the pieces so far for En Provence.
One more set of hourglass units and then time to put the blocks together. This may be my first finish for 2017!

Sunday Stash Report/ Happy 2017

Hope you are all enjoying your New Year's Day!

A quick look back on 2016. Eleven quilts were added to the quilting Que, with 41 total yards used. Over 60 quilts were quilted on the Longarm, along with 8 of my own! Not bad overall, but hope to use up a little more of the stash this year, and get a few more of my quilt tops quilted.

I have started putting together the UFO list for 2017, with a couple of carryovers from 2016. As usual I have an ambitious list of projects waiting to be completed. I will try to link up each week with Judy over at Patchwork Times each week for the Sunday Stash Report and Design Wall Monday, so you can check out what I am doing and see what others are working on.

Here are the final numbers for 2016.  Numbers will reset to 0 starting today.

Used this week: 0 yards.
Used YTD: 152 yards.
Purchased this week: 0 yards.
Purchased YTD: 111 yards.
Net Fabric Used YTD: 41 yards.

Judy has also put together a  2017 UFO Challenge. She will be picking a Number from 1-12 each month to work on. I will be posting my UFO's later this week as I put them all together. This is a great way to get motivated to get at least a few of those UFO's complete.

Here's to a Happy and Healthy New Year!
