Design Wall Monday

Happy Memorial Day!

This week I am working on the next installment of blocks for Freedom Rings. The first one is finished below, with the other cut out and ready to sew.

Also on the board is the two sections of paper piecing I will be sewing for Sunshine Quilt Guild BOM. This was put together by Sandi over at Kwiltnkats. Hope I am the winner of this one!

I have all the strips cut and ready to sew. Finished Quilt is below. Love all the black and white fabrics in this one. If I don't win, I think I might do this one in lime green, but also thinking it would look good in turquoise.

Check out more Design Walls at Patchwork Times. Have a great week!

Stash Report

This week there is a finish! Below is Between the Lines a pattern by Denyse Schmidt. The blocks were all foundation pieced on tear away stabilizer. The stabilizer worked great in keeping all the strips from stretching, but was a little bit hard to remove. The next time I will use paper.

Between the Lines
This quilt was super easy, except for lining up all the sashing. It took a little un-sewing to get it all matched up and as straight as possible. No purchases this week, so stash usage is looking better. Have a great week, and check back later this week as I will be posting from the Dear Jane Cowgirl Round up in San Antonio!

Used this week: 20 yards.
Used YTD: 99 yards.
Purchased this week: 0 yards.

Design Wall Monday

This week I have a couple of projects I will be working on.
Blocks are finished below for the Denyse Schmidt quilt. Check out her site for more modern quilt patterns. Will be working on the sashing and borders next. Hope to finish this by the end of the week!

Next up I will be working on the 5th installment of Freedom Rings. See the the 4th installment below. This is only a 7 month project so hope to finish it up sometime in July.

Lot's to keep me busy this week. Coming up next week, a trip to San Antonio for the Second Annual Dear Jane Round-up. Looking forward to a whole week of working on my Dear Jane Quilt with Brenda and the all the Cowgirls!

The Big Reveal!

Here is my Sunshine Challenge Quilt-Uncle Sam. This pattern is from Quiltmaker Magazine July/August 2000. Yes, it is that old! Thanks to Sunshine Quilt Guild for giving me a reason to finally make it! I will be hanging in my office at work from Memorial Day through the Fourth of July.

Design Wall

This week I am working on a quilt for my daughter and her husband. The first of 25 blocks is completed. This quilt is made with fabrics from Cotton + Steel fabrics that were purchased last year at Rosie's Calico Cupboard. I like how the first block has turned out, and this will be a very modern quilt. Pattern is from Denyse Schmidt.

Design Wall Monday

This months UFO for me is #4, but it is already done. So I will be substituting #7, Denyse Schmidt's Between the Lines pattern. I have most of it cut out and ready to sew to the foundations.
Here are the pieces for the blocks, ready to sew on the foundations. There will be 25 of them that will go into this queen size quilt.

Also on the design wall will be this paper pieced birdhouse block for our monthly Block of the Month at Sunshine. This will need to be complete by this coming Tuesday.

Have a great rest of the week. See more projects at Patchwork Times.
