Block of the Month Finishes

This week, in between getting a little skiing in, I have finished up the next installments of  3 BOM's that I am working on this year along with my friend Sandi over at Kwiltnkats.

Here is Prairie Gathering by Pam Buda. This one adds on a border each month, and has you also making blocks for future borders.

Next is Union Blues, by Barbara Brackman. This month was the second installment of 720 half square triangles.

Lastly is Freedom Rings by Paula Barnes. Two more blocks and six small star blocks were completed this month.

Looking forward to the next installments for all in March!

Design Wall Monday

This week I am on vacation, so hope to get a lot accomplished.

First up will be the half square triangles for Union Blues. The picture is from the 1st batch that I made last month, making the same amount this month.

Next up will be the second step for Prairie Gathering.

Last will be the second set of blocks for Freedom Rings. These are my blocks from last month. This month is similar and will post pictures when finished later this week.

If I finish all that, I will be heading back to working on Allietarre.

Lots on my Design Wall this week. How about you? Check out more design walls at

Sunday Stash Report

Yeah!! Back in the black! My UFO for February, Five and Dime, is complete this week. The pattern is by Kansas Troubles Quilters.. It is super simple, made from a layer cake and a charm pack of the same fabric line. You could also make from all different fabrics to make even scrappier. I made the second border a bit smaller than the pattern called for. My "kit" that I won at our guild auction, also came with the ruler, which makes centering and cutting the blocks a breeze. Kansas Troubles Quilters also has a smaller version that you can make using a charm pack and a mini charm pack. Check out this great video by Missouri Star Quilts on how easy it is to make the Five and Dime Quilt.

Have a couple of adds for the week. Had to purchase the borders for the Five and Dime Quilt. I did not have anything in my stash that would work. Also picked up a few more reds for my Dear Jane Quilt.

Updated Numbers are below. Check our more reports at Patchwork Times.
Have a great week!

Design Wall

This week I will be finishing up the Five and Dime Quilt, just need to  add a couple of borders and hope to do it from the stash. This quilt went together super fast and would be great in almost any type of fabrics for a quick gift. It finishes at about 65 x 83.

Also in the works this week will be the half square triangle's for Union Blues and star blocks for Freedom Rings. The next step for Prairie Gathering is all cut and ready to sew. Will be a busy week for me. Hope the rest of your week is full of time to sew!

Stash Report

Hope you all had a great Valentines Day!
My DH suprised me with a helicopter ride over San Diego. that took us down the coast from La Jolla to Pacific beach. It was fun to see the city from high above, and it was a perfect day!

This week I have only adds to report. Ordered the fabrics below for a couple of

Design Wall

This week I am working on Five and Dime.
This is a super easy quilt made with a layer cake and a charm square pack.
I am finished with the first step and will be sewing into blocks this week. It is super scrappy,
and I think I am just going to randomly put blocks together and then lay them all out. It should go together pretty quickly. Below are 4 blocks ready to be sewn together.

Five and Dime Blocks

I also was the lucky winner of the BOM blocks from Sunshine Guild last night. Here are some of the blocks that I received. This is another easy pattern and will hopefully find some time to put these together and have another finish!

Lot's to keep me busy for the rest of the week! See other Design Walls at

Enjoy the rest of your week!
