Sunday Stash Report

This past week I was able to finish Survivor a quilt started in a class with Joyce Weeks at the San Diego Quilt Show in September of 2014. I chose to do mine in cheddar and blue. The original was in pink and blue. I really like the results!

Design Wall Monday

This week finds me in beautiful Mammoth Mountain for some skiing and of course a little sewing! We have finally had a good year of snow, so far, for the Sierra's.

This week I will be finishing up Survivor, a UFO from last year, along with working on Alliatere. I also brought along the first month's blocks for Union Blues, Praire Gathering, and Freedom Rings. Hope to get enough sewing time in this week to make a dent in all these projects.

I also wanted to share the first block completed for Chic Kisses, the class that I took at Road to California Quilt show this past weekend. The pattern is by Sew Kind of Wonderful, class taught by Jenny Pedigo.

Stash Report

After a trip to Road to California Quilt Show on Friday and Saturday, I have many new additions to the stash! Just could not resist all the great fabrics and a few new rulers!

Sandi and I took a fun class with Jenny Pedigo from Sew Kind of Wonderful, called Chic Kisses. It uses a great curved ruler, and I ended up purchasing the large and small version, along with a couple of great patterns. the fabrics purchased were for Chic Kisses, a quilt for my new granddaughter due anytime now, and a Bonnie Hunter Pattern called Lazy Sunday(one of my UFO's for this year).

Design Wall Monday

This week finds me working on the blocks for Freedom Rings, one of 3 block of the months I will be working on this year. This pattern is from Red Crinoline Quilts. I have the first month's block cut out and ready to sew. there are two large stars and 6 small star blocks that are completed each month for 7 months.

I will also be working on Allietare Mystery Quilt. Hope to finish this one up by the end of the month.

This week I will also be starting a new quilt in a class I will be taking on Friday at Road to California quilt show. It is called Chic Kisses by Sew Kind of Wonderful. Love the color of this quilt and it should be a fun class.

Only adds this week, as we had Pam Buda at our guild meeting last week, and I could not resist. Love her patterns and her fabric line. Check out her website if you have a chance here at Heartspun Quilts. With an upcoming trip to Road to California quilt show this week, and a trip to Rosie's, there will be more adds to come, with some finishes to follow by the end of January!

Stash Report

My first finish of the new year, Woodland Wildlife is finished! This was a UFO from 2015 and was started last June. I also learned why I do not like minky. It is used in the sashing for this quilt and looks great, but is a royal pain to work with.
It will be a long while before I use it again in any project!

Woodland Wildlife

I also finished the block below for Sunshine Quilters. We meet on Tuesday night and this month's speaker is Pam Buda. I will be doing a block of the month using one of her patterns this year. Sandi and I will be working on this together. It is called Prairie Gathering. You can see the quilt here.

A pretty good start to the new year with, 10 yards used. Looking forward to trying to get in another finish this month! See other stash reports at Patchwork Times.

Welcome 2016

Hope this finds you all enjoying the New Year!

Looking back on 2015, I was able to complete 12 quilts- you can see them all here. I started the year finishing up the Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt below called Grand Illusion. Along the way were a couple more Bonnie Hunter Patterns, Lady of Lake Erie,
Scrap Crystals, and Sisters Nine Patch.

Last January found me at Road to California Quilt Show,
where Downton Abbey Mystery and Batik Feathers were started and completed this year.

In between I entered a quilt in Sunshine Quilt Guilds annual challenge and won 1st place!

The year ended with finishing up three quilts for the Grandkids, which were shipped off for Christmas.

This year will bring another trip to Road to California Quilt show in January and a trip to San Antonio where I will attend the second annual Dear Jan Cowgirl Round up. You can also check out my ambitious list of UFO's for this year here. I will again be working to complete 12+ UFO's from my stash and will be linking up to both Patchwork Times, and 52 quilts to show my progress.

Hope you have a great New Year and are planning some great projects too!
